SOURCE: 94 olds climate control blower will not shutoff with ignition off
REplace fan control module, purchase car repair book on your model and locate it. Common problem, fan could also oscillate in speed at times.
SOURCE: Where is the Idle Control valve in a 1999 Olds
Find your throttle body (it's under the plastic cover):
The Idle Air Control Valve (IAC) is on its backside. Here it is with the manifold off (just for a better view, you don't need to remove the manifold):
Hope this helps - if it does, give me some thumbs!
SOURCE: Trying to replace the crankshaft position sensor
Hello suewagner.
The crank sensor is mounted above the starter motor on the firewall side of the engine. The sensor picks up the signal direct off of the crankshaft through a machined hole in the engine block.
I have removed them without dropping the starter but learned that in most cases it is easier to drop the starter down to access it.
Here is a diagram for you.
There you are, hope this helps you.
Take care,
KL

Code P0171 - mixture too lean. Basically this means that the oxygen sensor detected a lean condition (too much oxygen in the exhaust).
One or more of the following has happened:
1 - the MAF (Mass Air Flow) Sensor is dirty or faulty. Note: The use of "oiled" air filters may cause the MAF to become dirty if the filter is over-oiled. There is also an issue with some vehicles where the MAF sensors leak the silicone potting material used to protect the circuitry.
2 - there could be a vacuum leak downstream of the MAF sensor - a pipe might be broken or leaking at the joint.
3 - the fuel lines, filter or/and injectors might be dirty.
These are the solutions:
1 - in the vast majority of cases, simply cleaning the MAF sensor does the trick. Consult your service manual for its location but it's usually easy to find - it's situated between the air filter and the intake manifold right next to the accelerator flap. I find it's best to take it off and spray it with electronics cleaner or brake cleaner. Make sure you are careful not to damage the MAF sensor, and make sure it's dry before reinstalling
2 - inspect all vacuum and PCV hoses, replace if necessary.
3 - check for a dirty fuel filter and proper fuel pressure, use a cleaner additive or even have the injectors professionally cleaned, if necessary.
