Unless you have the 4 digit security code, you'll have to try to get it from the dealer. Once you have this code, you enter it by using the first 4 preset buttons. Each preset button applies to a number to the code (the first button is the first nuber, the second button is the second number, and so on). Cycle each button until the correct number appears. Once the code is entered, push the tape (or cd) button. You should hear a beep if the correct code is entered. If it is entered incorrectly 3 times, it will have to be left on for an hour before trying again. I believe when the vehicle was bought from the dealer, they gave out what they called a customer security card that has the code.

RADIO CODE INSTRUCTIONS FOR A 2007 MAZDA TRIBUTE

When you disconnect your battery and then reconnect it again, it disables the radio. This is an anti-theft protection for your car radio.
The enable your radio the activation code is in your vehicle owner's manual. If you do not have this code you need to go to your Mazda service centre and get them to enter this code for you.

Changed battery and alternator, now radio and power locks don't work

I'm not real familiar with Mazda but you probably need to re-enter a code for the radio and re-program your key fob for your alarm....both processes should be outlined in your owner's manual. I would also check your fuses which may have been blown when switching out your battery. Hope this helps!
