Broiler not working, Oven OK

I have a DCS RGS-305SS 30" Gas range which has had numerous failures (thermostat broke, it shipped from factory with the oven disconnected etc). Been working fine for a few years now but recently after a power outage, the broiler stopped working.

I've scoured the web and the best I can determine is that the igniter is bad. so where can I get a replacement igniter (preferably online). I'd really rather DIY this if it's a just a bad part. I figure it can't be that hard to replace. Will this part come with instructions? If not can someone give me some pointers as to how to remove the old one, install the new one?

Reliable Parts does not carry anything for DCS. Anywhere else that might?

I'm in the U.S. (NYC) - and thanks!

Our DCS gas oven heats fine. Gas comes out when you turn the broiler on (you can smell it), the element turns red and gets hot, but it does not ignite the fire in the broiler.

Looking for any advice/help and where to order parts - can't find them anywhere. Thanks.

I have had this DCS range for about five years. IT is a model RGS-305. My first problem is one that I see everyone else is having. It started with the oven not coming on. Broiler ignitor would still glow and ignite. The problem now is neither broiler or oven ignitor will glow. Is both ignitors bad and how much and where to get them?

We have a DCS RG-366 SS L, a 36" gas range and the igniter went out. You could smell gas and the igniter would glow red - but no fire across the broiler.

There is a place in Michigan called RepairClinic.com. We bought a replacement igniter from them and it works like a charm. It was $53 (we live close by and didn't have to have it shipped).

The item number (from the invoice) is 1191 and the box the igniter came in looks like it is manufactured by FSP, code 082005, and there is a larger number on the box that says 786324 IGNTR-OVEN.

Hope this helps.

I had the same need for an igniter and was able to get it by contacting DCS directly. You can contact DCS directly at (888) 281-5698. You must have the model number which is RGS-305SS. If you have the product manual it has the part name and number. The manual I have lists part number 211542, igniter I/R (large).

You can get the part at www.reliableparts.com

the part should come with instructions from the factory.

if you need more help, let me know.

okay, i will look into it and let you know.

in the meantime, look into Fisher & Paykel. they are an Australian company but have a 24/7 call centre and a North American factory in CA that supplies parts for them. The # is 1-888-936-7872.

You didn't state whether you used a DCS conversion kit or not. I was able to find conversion instructions for a model similar to yours (not an exact match) but it will give you an idea as to what all is involved.

Oven wont light ,igniter is O.K Burners on top work Seems like no gas comming into oven . What to do?

Ignitor is the most common problem, even when it appears to be glowing somewhat. If you've already replaced it, then it's the gas valve. Call for service!

Help in Replacing broiler igniter DCS RG-486GD

Jeff,
You have to remove the back of the range; the wires plug into the gas valve that controls gas to the broiler.  They detach by pulling on the slip on connector.
