You need to connect one wire from each cable to one of the com terminals. The other wire from each cable has to connect to a tap terminal. The tap terminal you use will depend how many lights and the length of the cable. For short cable runs like 25' use tap 1 50' tap 2 100' tap 3 more than 100' tap 4. you may need to connect all three cables to the same tap terminal. If you turn it on and one string of lights is dimmer than the others move the tap connection from that wire to a higher number. The tap terminals send out a little higher voltage the higher the tap number. The obect is to get the same light output of each light compensating for the voltage drop of the cable. This is a lot of info so I hope this answers your question. If you need more help let me know.

Schematic malibu 8100-9120-01

I don't think they post schematic for the transformer
But generally, the primary coil receives 120Volt AC input from household electrical outlet
And the secondary coil produces 12Volt AC output for the low voltage lights.
The 'coil' is a coil of insulated wire wrapped around a metal core. Two coils set side by side create a transformer... when primary is energized, the secondary responds to the magnetic field caused by primary core... resulting in a current that flows on the secondary coil.
Output voltage on secondary coil is determined by the number of wraps and diameter of wire.

Some transformers offer a choice of secondary output... Kichler for example... you can select 12-13-14-15 Volt AC output
This is achieved by the way the secondary coil is wrapped.... for less voltage a wire is tapped at one point on the coil... for more voltage, a wire is tapped at another point on coil. This gives the user several wire choices to connect the lights.

I want to use this Transformer to power my 12 volt lights in my trailer using a 7 blade connector that is already installed on my trailer. How do I connect the wiring n the ac nle

The two wires are meant to be connected to the 120 volt source. The box or the papers with the transformer should tell you which two of the three wires provides the 12 volt output. If not connect the two wires to the 120V source - Be CAREFUL! - 120V is dangerous. Then try, one at a time, touching each of the three combinations of wires (1&2, 1&3, 2&3) to the contacts on a 12 V incandescent lamp (very bottom and threaded side) the 12V pair will give you the brightest light. The other two are 6v.

I can't address the 7 blade connector without more information. I suggest that you go to a place that sells trailer parts.

Not knowing anything about your trailer I don't know if a 2 amp (2000 ma) transformer will supply enough current to do the job.

Where to thw wires go

Output wires (going to lights) connect to different terminals depending on desired output voltage.
For example 12 volt, 13 volt or 15 volt.
Input wires (coming from power source) depend on specific timer. Some timers plug into outlet, while other are hardwired.
Copy following link for some example Kitchler transformer wiring.

How can i install the transformer for intermatic timer t10004rt3

Intermatic phone number: 815-675-7076

T104RT3 has 120Volt 300 watt transformer with 12-13-14Volt output.

The timer mechanism is 240Volt T104M.

Since both 120Volt and 240Volt are needed, the wire coming from breaker box should have 2 Hots and a neutral, plus the ground wire.
So you need 12-3 with/ground wire or 10-3 with/ground wire.
See image of typical wires plus ratings:
http://waterheatertimer.org/Color-codewire.html
See example image showing 2 hots and neutral and ground coming from breaker box:
http://waterheatertimer.org/images/Basic-240-Volt-water-heater-circuit-2.jpg

The 2 hot wires come from a 240Volt circuit breaker.
The neutral comes from the neutral busbar, or can be accessed from tying into any white neutral on nearby 120Volt outlet.

How to wire timer:
Connect 240Volt hot wires to terminals 1 and 3 on timer. Connect 240Volt timed output to terminals 2 and 4 on timer.

How to wire transformer:
Connect 120Volt transformer two different ways. (a) white wire connects to neutral wire and black wire connects to terminal 1 on timer. With this wiring, the transformer is ON at all times. (b) white wire connects to neutral wire and black wire connects to terminal 2 on timer. With this wiring, the transformer will be ON when timer turns on.
Do not put both stranded wire and copper wire under same screw terminal. Instead connect transformer wire to solid copper wire using wire nut.

I have a kichler 15pl300 where it does not transform from 120 Volts coming and it does not want to send out 12 V on the other side. The 120 volts has confirmed for be live.

I have been unable to locate manual for Kitchler low voltage products.
The troubleshoot page says check on-off switch, and put black tape over photoeye for two minutes, but does not elaborate on what to do.

I just installed a kichler 15pl200azt xfrmr and tried to follow the wiring instructions. I stripped the wires about 1/2", pushed one into the com hole and the other into the 12v hole. I tightened...

Hello,

I think your problem is that the terminal isn't opening wide enough. What I suggest is to open terminal as much as it will let you. Turn the screw counter clockwise many turns ~20 turns should do it. Insert the wire and tighten.

If you look inside the terminal block when you are loosening it you will notice that there is a little metal plate that is dropping. Make sure that the wire is on top of the plate not the bottom.
