My Danby ice maker keeps flashing that it is out of water. I can not locate the manual that came with it. I have turned of the machine, waited for about a minute, then turned it back on. It still does the same thing. Is there anything else I can do?
The water flow sensor has a dirty connection. There is an eyelet terminal screw holding down to the electrode, that just needs to be cleaned. Just loosening and tightening the screw a few times and maybe moving the electrode more into the stream fixed mine.
Where the water comes into the ice making tray you’ll see two shiny wire electrodes. When the water enters the tray it crosses the two electrodes telling machine has enough water.
Make sure the connection from the wire is clean, and you can test the machine with the cover off and confirm you fixed it.
The electrode is located under the black plastic cover at the rear right side of the machine.
You can access it by just removing the black plastic cover that holds the door. I took all the stainless steel covers off trying to figure this out.
I finally found the manual and did what the manual trouble shoot section said to do. Nothing fixed the problem so I called the customer service number listed in the manal. Because there is no Danby service people in my area, they suggested I return the machine to the retailer and exchange it for another machine.

We have an Ice N' Easy Danby Designer Ice Maker. It's 1-2 years old. It has started showing the "out of water" icon, and stopped making ice, when there is still plenty of water. It's sporadic. Is this a common problem with an easy fix? Where / how would I get service? thanks
