My battery in new, the ac charger died so I had to buy an external charger. Now the battery charges, but when I put it in the camera, i get the error and reset message. i reset the camera but it is doing nothing, you turn it on and I get the same message. I have left the battery out, the memory card, you name it. HELP!! Obviously this is an issue with this camera.

Oh i know where it is: if you open the thing at the bottom of your camera where the battery and memory card goes, next to the memory card place to put it there is a little hole you probably need the end of a paper clip or something like that and then put it there(you hear a little click sound) and then you hold it there for 10 sec and then take the battery and memory card out and then count to ten and then put only the battery back in. and then start your camera and it should be fine. it micht have been the memory card. this happened to me and then it kept on doing it and i tryed everything even reseting it and now it doesnt even turn on! i know its not the battery because if it was the battery then it would flash that blue light to show that it needs charging but ive tried everything and it still doesnt work.=(

  1. Remove the batteries and any memory cards that are in the camera.
  2. Wait at least five minutes.
  3. Reinstall the batteries. NOTE: Do not put the memory cards back in the camera.
  4. Turn on the camera.
  5. If the camera turns on and functions correctly, reinstall the memory cards.

The R725 works with SD cards. While SDHC cards will fit into the slot, they are electronically incompatible and will not work in devices not designed for them. You need to use SD cards, 2GB and smaller.

Unsupported card error on r725 photosmart hp

I've had this happen a few times. I simply removed the memory card and reinserted it. Usually that does the trick on the first try. On a bad day I've had to do it 3 or 4 times in a row until it just worked.

Camera shuts down at start...pics out of focus sometimes...

Hi, try resetting the camera. To reset it, open the battery cover. You should see a tiny hole right beside the battery release switch. Here's the link for the camera rest: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c00598200&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&product=1154651&lang=en If this does not resolve the issue, you can "live chat" with a HP representative free of charge.
