Username/ password boughta new laptop and want to transfer my old program, but it is asking for a username / password which I don't have. any suggestions? not supported any longer by RS. 4 years old

It's not important / necessary to change your email passwords / user names / anything. What's important is that you *erase* such settings so if he tries to log onto any website or into any program that the program(s) or website(s) ask for a username / password. This is most easily accomplished through Internet Options where you clear forms, passwords, autofills, cookies, etc.

Now, if you want a *super easy* fix, and assuming you're a Windows user, go to your admin settings and change your username's password (so he doesn't know it) then create a new username / password for him. That way he gets a "new" user account and *nothing* (except programs like Office, various games, applications, etc.) gets transferred over. Any installed programs will not (*should* not) carry over your user data.

BEST way to solve your problem is to reload the factory image using the restore CDs or BIOS options so that when he turns on the computer, it has the fresh "out of the box experience."

go into the log in page - hit "forgot user ID" - they will email you a new one or email you a link to pick a new one - use at least 8 characters. Then go back to log in enter & enter your new user name. Try your old password - if that doesn't work, hit "forgot password" & they'll let you reset.

I'm a bit confused, When you open Internet Explorer, What ask you for a username and password? OR , Is it the Laptop , at boot that's asking for a username and password? Or , wireless?

If you're sure about your username - click on Can't access your account? under the login box.Check the first option "I don't know my password" and you'll be asked for an email where your login details/reset password instruction to be sent. You'll have to answer few questions (like security questions and contact details you've set when registering).

You can reset your password with Facebook. But you cannot get back your old password in Facebook.

In the Facebook login page, click 'Forgot your password' link below Password input box. In the page that appears, enter your mail id or phone number OR enter your facebook username (if you remember,or ask your friends to copy-paste your username in the URL of your profile) OR enter your full name and your Facebook friend's full name. You would receive mail from Facebook on steps how to reset your password.

You would get mail with link and code. You can click link which will ask you to enter new password.

Sign out of Yahoo Mail and then go to
https://login.yahoo.com/config/login_verify2?&.src=ym

Type in new username and password. If you don't have one you can select create a new account at the bottom of the box.

In which computer you have inter net in that computer please click on START and click on RUN in that box enter CMD. You will get command mode. In that command mode type this command. 'ipconfig'. You ll get the ip address and gate way. Please close all of the window and open internet explorer in that same computer and enter the gateway ip address in that address bar. it will open new webpage. then enter the username and password of the router. in that window you can find the wireless settings and security key. If you don't know the username and the password of the router please open this link and find the name of your router in this page and take the username and the password. Preparation:
1. Username and password for router.
2.Username and password for provider internet.
3.Ethernet cable (rj45 connection)
5. Pc /laptop to setup router ( on step i'm referred to pc)
4. Web browser( more preferred to using internet explorer current version)

Step:
1. Plug Ethernet cable to router
2. Plug another end Ethernet cable to pcthat you are using to setup
(Now you have cable was connected between pc and router)
3.Switch on the router.
4.Open web browser. Or click here http://192.168.1.1
5.Some window will popup
6.Enter the username and password for router. If default( mean you don't change username or password,you can leave blank for username and fill password with "admin")
If still can't enter try search at google with your model and brand for username and password default.
7.After success enter, then using the wizard .
8. Fill the username and password for provider.
9.FInish.

For step 7th, to 9th, you can directly go setup internet connection( depend to model, sometimes it just type setup) where you will find ppp username and ppp password.. change it..

Reset 10.5 Leopard & 10.6 Snow Leopard password

1. Power on or restart your Mac.
2. At the chime (or grey screen if your chime is turned off), hold down Command+S on your keyboard to enter single-user mode.
3. This step is optional, but it's a good idea because it checks the consistency of the hard disk before moving on. At the prompt, type fsck -fy and press Enter/Return. Wait for the checks to complete before going to the next step.
4. Type mount -uw / and press Enter.
5. Type launchctl load /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.DirectoryServices.plist and press Enter.

1. Power on or restart your Mac.

4. Type passwd username and replace "username" with the short name of the user account for which you'd like to reset the password.
5. Type your desired password and press Enter. It won't show itself on the screen, so be careful what you type. You will most likely have to enter it again to confirm.
6. Type reboot and press Enter.

Does it ask for a password Immediately when you turn it on? (CMOS password) or does windows boot up and then ask for both a username and password?

If the first, and you don't know what your password is, you can try clearing the CMOS by pulling the battery from the motherboard.

If it's a windows password, you or someone else created a password for it. Try just clicking OK, or enter Administrator as the username and leave password blank. Otherwise you may have to reset using ultimate boot CD.
