We use the Sony ICD-BM1 VTP digital voice recorder to record notes, save them to a memory stick (Sony Magic Gate 128MB,and use Dragon voice recognition software to transcribe. One note would not open and the error message read "The message is no longer usable because an irregular operation may be performed". The message could be heard when played back in the recorder itself. Any idea what caused it and how we can prevent this.

the workaround seems to be
buy an Olympus recorder (supposedly they issued a patch for DNS 10 in a couple of days)
or
tell DNS that the source is a PDA generating WAV, MP3, etc.
havn't tried this myself yet. some say it it isn't that awful. But I too am very dissappointed.

I would run compatibility check. It sounds like not compatible with Vista.
