I signed on last night, asked a couple of questions, but the info sent to my e-mail didn't have anything to do with the questions I asked. Noticing in the forum, several people has the same problem: Samsung TV/VCR Combo, Model CXJ1952 won't respond to GE Universal Remote. All it says when turned on is "Line In". Can anyone help?

Hi CindyCee,

I have tried to post solutions, but they seem to be too long, so I will have to post more than once to get the info to you.

First part- the "Line-In" Video Source thing many people are having fun with. Try these options from the Samsung FAQs website.:

How Do You Switch Video Sources? I signed on last night, - spacer.gif Depending on the model TV you have, there are up to four ways to change the video source:

  • Through the on-screen menu controlled by your remote
  • Through the on-screen menu accessed through the Menu button on your TV's front panel
  • Through the TV/Video, TV/Component, or Source button on your remote
  • Through the TV/Video or Source button on the front panel of your TV
Your TV could provide any combination of these methods. Instructions for all the methods are below
Changing the Source Using the On-Screen Menu Controlled By Your Remote To use the on-screen menu of your TV controlled by your remote to change video sources, follow these steps:
  1. Turn on your TV.
  2. Press the Menu button on your remote. The Main Menu appears.

  4. Select Source List, and then press the Enter button.
  5. Press the Up or Down arrow button on your remote to select the signal source, and then press the Enter button on your remote.
  6. Press the Exit button on your remote to exit.
Changing the Source Using the On-Screen Menu Accessed Through the Menu Button On The Front Of Your TV To use the on-screen menu of your TV accessed through the Menu button on the front of your TV to change video sources, follow these steps:
  1. Turn on your TV.
  2. Press the Menu button on the front of your TV. The Main Menu appears.
  3. Use the Up or Down Ch button on the TV to select Input, and then press the - or + Vol button. The Input menu appears.
  4. Use the Up or Down Ch button on the TV to select Source List, and then press the - or + Vol button.
  5. Press the Up or Down Ch button on your TV to select the signal source, and then press the - or + Vol button.
  6. Press the Menu button to exit.
Changing the Source Using the TV/Video or Source Button On Your Remote To use your remote to change the video source, follow these steps:
  1. Turn on your TV.
  2. Press the TV/Video or Source button. The current source appears on the TV screen.
  3. Press the TV/Video or Source button repeatedly to cycle through the available sources. Stop when you reach the source you want.

    I posted 3 parts-part one-Line-In problem.

Part 2 - how to program a G.E. Universal remote.

Part 3 - the 3 and 4 digit codes for the Samsung T.V./V.C.R. Combos

I don't see them showing up, so I'm not sure if they went through, feel free to e-mail me anyone for more info.

    [email protected]

    O.K.-Part 2- Programming your G.E. Universal Remote.

To give more specific instructions it would help to know which G.E. Universal Remote you actually have since they probably make a bunch of different ones. So my info will be more generic info.

    From the G.E. website:

Jasco Products, in business since 1975, manufactures GE accessories, including computer accessories, home electronics, smart home products and electronic accessories.

    http://www.jascoproducts.com/support/uni...

This link has info on Programming your remote and lists of 3 and 4 button codes related to your t.v. and other products.

I will post the text of them in the next post.

  • mikedee4 Jan 26, 2009

    The instructions located at:

    http://www.jascoproducts.com/support/uni...

are in word documents and .pdf's.

So here is some of the info in plain text:

    GE UNIVERSAL REMOTE INSTRUCTIONS

Below you will find the generic instructions for the majority of our GE Universal

Remotes for Manually Entering Codes, Using the Code Search Feature and Using

    the Sleep Feature (RM94902, RM94904 and RM94905).

If these instructions do not work for your particular remote please contact our

Customer Information Center at 1-800-654-8483 option 4 or

[email protected] for further assistance. Please have your remote

model or the bar code from the packaging available for the technician to assist

    you.

    MANUALLY ENTERING CODES

    1. Manually turn on the device (TV, VCR, DVD, etc.) you wish to

    program.

    2. Press and hold the CODE SEARCH/SETUP button on the remote

until the INDICATOR LIGHT lights, then release.

    3. Press and release the button for the device you are programming

(TV, VCR, DVD, etc.). For AUX, press AUX then the device button

you are assigning to AUX. The INDICATOR LIGHT will blink then

    remain lit.

    4. Enter the three or four digit code for your device using the number

buttons in the GE Universal Remote. After your code is entered the

    INDICATOR LIGHT will turn off.

    5. Aim the remote at the device (TV, VCR, DVD, etc.) and press the

POWER button. Your device should turn off.

    Note:
If your device does not respond to the first code listed,

repeat steps with the next code. If none of the codes listed for your

device work for your device or your brand is not listed, try the Code

    Search method described below.

    USING CODE SEARCH FUNCTION

If your TV, VCR, DVD, etc. does not respond after you have tried all the codes

for your brand or if your brand is not listed, try searching for your codes by

    following the steps below.

    1. Turn on the device you wish to program.

    2. Press and hold CODE SEARCH/SETUP until the INDICATOR

    LIGHT lights, then release.

    3. Press and release the device button for the device you are

programming (TV, VCR, DVD, etc.). The INDICATOR LIGHT will

blink once then remain lit. For AUX, press AUX then the device

button you are assigning to AUX.

    4. Press and release POWER until your device turns off. Wait at least

2 seconds between each time you press POWER. Important: You

may have to press POWER up to 250 times.

    5. When your device turns off press the ENTER/SAVE button. The

    INDICATOR LIGHT will go off.

    SLEEP FEATURE (RM94902, RM94904 and RM94905)

This feature will turn off your TV at the time you choose from 1-99 minutes.

    To Use the Sleep Feature:

    1. Press and hold the SLEEP button until the INDICATOR LIGHT

    stays lit.

    2. Enter time in minutes using the numerical keypad. (Minutes 1-99;

press 0 before the actual number).

    3. Lease remote aimed at television. The Sleep Function will not

function properly unless the remote is left aimed at the television.

Four digit code programming instructions from website link:

    Direct Code Entry

    1. Press and hold the SETUP

    button until the red

    indicator stays on, then

    release the SETUP button.

    2. Press and release the

    desired Mode button (TV,

    VCR
    , etc.). The red

    indicator blinks, then

    stays lit.

    3. Enter the 4 digit code from

    the code tables. Note:

    after a valid code entry,

    the red indicator turns off.

    For an invalid code, the

    red indicator flashes.

    4.With your device on,

    press CHANNEL UP. If

    the device responds, no

    further programming is

    required. Note: If some

    buttons do not operate

your device, try one of the

    other codes for your

    brand.

    Note, when all codes have

    been searched the red

    indicator flashes rapidly for

    3 seconds.

    Code Search

    If after trying “Direct Code

    Entry” your device does not

respond, or if your brand is

not listed, try doing a search

of the code library for your

    code by following the steps

    to the right.

    1. Manually turn on the

    device (TV, VCR, etc.) to

    be controlled.

    2. Press and hold the SETUP

    button until the red

    indicator stays on, then

    release the SETUP button.

    3. Press and release the

    desired Mode button (TV,

    VCR
    , etc.). The red

    indicator blinks once,

    then stays on.

    4. Press the CHANNEL UP

    button repeatedly (up to

    300 times) until the device

    to be controlled changes

    channel. The red indicator

    blinks, then stays lit.

    5. Press and release MUTE

    to install the code. The

    indicator light goes off.

    Most users will want to

    store VCR codes under the

    VCR
    button, Cable codes

under CBL, etc. If you want

to store a VCR code under

    CBL
    , etc., first follow the

    procedure for Direct Code

Entry and press CBL in step

2 of Direct Code Entry, then

enter ANY VCR code in step

3 of Direct Code Entry. Then

    follow the steps above for

    Code Search.

    Combo Devices:

For Combo Devices, in many cases a single code operates both parts of the device (e.g. the TV and the VCR). In other cases you need to set up two codes.

For example, one for the TV and one for the VCR. Where codes are shown below as [### ###] the first code operates the first part of the device’s name,

and the second code operates the second part. E.G., for a TV/VCR device, the first code operates the TV and the second code operates the VCR.

    TV/VCR Combos

Where the code is listed as [### ###]

the first is for the TV and the second is

for the VCR. Otherwise just the one

code operates both the TV and the

    VCR.

    SAMSUNG .......................... 0358 0942

    TV/DVD Combos

Where the code is listed as [### ###]

the first is for the TV and the second is

for the DVD. Otherwise just the one

code operates both the TV and the

    DVD.

    SAMSUNG .................................... 0942

There are more types of combo codes listed at the weblink for Samsung including:

    TV/VCR/DVD Combos-..............0942

    DVD/VCR Combos-...................0455.....0963

    DVR/SAT Combos-....................0583

I have been sent 2 e-mails telling me my face book acct is being shut down, due to abuse, I don't do anything bad on it, what is the problem

You should check that your account wasn't hacked because if so the hackers may have written the abuse. However Facebook is not organised and super unreliable but if you contact them and they reply then you are lucky. Ask them for details like when you last signed in and if you didn't sign in when they told you then you know someone has hacked into your Facebook account which means you have to try to reset your password or erase your Facebook account permanently as it could cause to dangerous situations.

Hello i forget my password and my all other details in yahoo mail so how can i get the same

Open a free Gmail or windows live account. Then contact yhoo from your web mail, tell them you forgot your password, and they should ask you a couple of questions, and either email you the necessary password. That's how most of the work, like my hotmail address got lost and they sent it back on my pop3 account. You probablly have a POP3, That one is easier to verify for them, so if you have outlook or outlook express, it should take an couple of hours, with web mail like yhoo and gmail, it takes longer for them to verify. But do yourself a favor and get a gmail-Google account, if you use google as your primary search engine, you can sign in once and forget it, as it will sign you in on your browser, good luck
