Try going to a local hobby shop, You should be able to find parts and they are usually very helpful. Or try finding a local group that races them. You might be surprised the groups out there for this and airplanes. Hope this helps.

Set-up (Programming) procedure is too much to type in here, and is not practical and it will differ brand-to-brand remote controls. If you wish to get more; check the site linked here. It has set-up code list & set-up procedure to many popular brand remote controls. Pull up older posts. http://electrohelponline.blogspot.com/ http://remotesearch.blogspot.com/
I ran over the same remote 1 yr + ago. I looked all over but finally called the plant in New Hampshire. They were at that time completely out of stock but the woman I spoke to could not have been more helpful. I did get a new remote a few months later when she received a supply from the factory.
(Now they don't make the one we have anymore but it's worth a try)

Have you messed with the helicopter wire antenna at all? It's the plain wire that comes wrapped around one of the landing skids and should be left like that. Also, make sure the metal antenna on your remote is fully extended. Normal operating range is 50-100 meters maximum depending on surroundings and interference. Are any of these potentially the issue?
Check the owners manual, it is described there. The vehicle has lost the ability to recognize the code sent by the remote. I dont remember too well, but it involves turning the ignition switch to the #2 position, while keeping the remote pressed, then the alarm light starts flashing, and the procedure has to be repeated. Also make sure that you have all remotes at hand, because the spare remote will not work either.
