I have tried finding online sources for the assembly instructions for your Thornwood loft bed with student desk with no luck. You probably know that the Thornwood Furniture Manufacturing company, headquartered in Phoenix, Arizona filed for bankruptcy and went out of business in September 2013. By the way, my search was extensive.
I did find someone selling online what seems to be the same type of Thornwood furniture combo which you have. This is the link: http://youngstown-oh.americanlisted.com/furniture/loft-twin-bunk-bedroom-set-200-sharon-pa_21677755.html
Left click on the camera icon (More) to get to the link to contact the seller, so you may ask if she/he has the printed assembly instructions for the furniture and ask if you can purchase a copy of just the assembly instructions.
A loft bed looks very similar to a bunk bed. Likebunk bed, it also has two stories, main difference being that the lower sectionis usually used for non-sleeping purposes such as computer and office work. Thistype of bed is very common among students.
