Maintainence Kit I cannot remove maintainence kit! It appears as if the lock on the top of the printer has been pushed in. Are these two related?

Transfer kit is a sensitive and vital part of the printer. When it's worn out, it is advisable to replace it before continuing on printing.
Transfer kit if not replaced causes much more damage to the printer. Turn off and unplug the printer and let it cool down for a few minutes.
Open the front cover and push the lever that locks in the transfer belt and raises it carefully to remove it. Lift it gently on the side and slide it gently to completely remove.
Replace the transfer belt with the new one. Make sure to lock it safely before putting back the lid. Plug and turn on the printer

Never mind, I noticed the model in the subject. Sorry, it is Monday morning. Ideally you need to order a new ADF Maintenance Kit and replace the parts in it to maintain optimal performance of your printer. It comes with a pickup roller, separation pad, mylar sheet and instructions. After you replace the kit, or if you just want to reset the message and ignore it for another 90k copies, do this:
1) Turn the machine off and back on. 2) When XXXMB appears on the control panel display, press and hold the 6 button until all three LEDs flash once and then stay on. (This could take about 20 secs to happen) 3) Release the 6 button and then press the 3 button twice. 4) Press the 6 button to select NEW DOCUMENT FEEDER KIT.
After doing this, the MFP will complete its initialization sequence and the counter will be automatically reset.

printer rollers need looking at, or the drum needs replacing

look for maintainence kit, or print printer configuration and look at drum life and total amount of print outs. then refer to manufacturers website and cross reference when it needs servicing

install MK means replace the maintains kit . maintains kit is belongs to drum ,developer , drive gears ..... after 250000 print it asking to replace all the things ....... this is not harmful the printer it will work fine don't worry about the install mk....

The maintenance kit needs to touch contacts to reset it.

There is a camshaft 020K14800 which may be cracked and therefore doesn't position these contacts. I suggest replacing this.

easy one.. open the front of the printer, where the paper comes out. Place your thumb under the lip of the printer just under the name Canon and lift. The top of the printer will lift up and lock into place when you lift it high enough. Do this with the printer turned on and the cartridges will slide out from the right into the middle for easier replacement. If you do this and the printer is turned off, the cartridges are hidden from view as they are parked on the rest stand underneath the front panel buttons. Press the grey cartridge release towards the front of the printer and the cartridge enclosure will open, remove the cartridge, refit the new one (or the old one), close the enclosure cover and then drop the top cover by pushing the support leg towards the back of the printer as you lower the top. Then go into control panel, printers and scanners and right click on the printer icon. Select properties, then select the maintainence tab. click on the printer alignment and follow the procedure.. Done..

you need to check the maintainence kit and see if it's full. Also if it isn't, use some iso-proponal alcohol and some q-tips to clean the print section of the cartridge and the cartridge tray.

The white plastic lever has broken and needs replacement. On the bottom left hand side bracket of the Transfer kit to it's left is a black plastic cover which pops off remove it and you will see a white plastic
lever which pivots on a bar with the transfer kit locking and unlocking the toner cartridges it often goes bad and tears. Hp should modify this and make this piece metal not plastic. You can manually pull and push down on the metal bar to lock unlock the toner cartridges for a temporary fix.

Your maintenance roller could be out of place in the kit. Since you just replaced the kit and getting the grinding noise. Sounds like you have a problem with that kit binding as it pivots up and down away from the drum.
