Hi Tania, there should not be any reason for repeated refilling of refrigerant unless there is a leak in the system. The cylinder you refer to is the compressor and drives the refrigerant through the system. It is quite common for fridges to develop small leaks which should be repaired at the time a fridge is refilled. These leaks can sometimes be internal in the walls of the cabinet in which case it is not possible or practical to repair them.

My Haier fridge freezer is making a very loud and constant knocking sound. Is it still safe to have switched And does anyone know what the problem could be?

Pull the fridge freezer out and see if the loud knocking sound is coming from the compressor. It's that black round thing at the bottom in the back. If it is, it's time to go shopping.

Fridge not cooling

The freezer compartment is easily damaged could have lost it's gas if you tried to remove the ice with something sharp. If the compressor is running all the time then it could be the problem.

Fridge freezer is working but not blowing out cold air. Apparently this is to do with the gas needing to be refilled, can you tell me if this is an easy job and how much it would cost to be repaired please...

if all you need is to put more refrigerant in the unit it depends on what type of refrigerant the unit uses. if is an old unit it might be more expensive, most new unit use R-134a and this particular one is really cheap and the job can be done really easy it should not be expensive to fix

Air or gas leaking from freezer in Haier mini fridge

If you go to a refrigeration supply the sell an epoxy to repair the evaporator but you will need to do a sealed system repair

Haier Fridge and Freezer

The compressor and Freon are all one sealed unit, never heard of a separated system. by turning it on you will just drain the rest of the freon.
