You cannot delete or alter the administator password, the only way to do this is to reformat and reinstal windows, but normally when you are asked for the administrator password, you just press enter, unless the password has actually been set when originally installed.

For all intents and purposes, you can't that I am aware of. Essentially you would need a lucky guess. Now, I'm not sure if you intentionally or unintentionally left USB drive (pen drives) off your list, but if you intentionally left them off, then you could potentially use utilities on them to access the system and reset the passwords, but this would seem to break the "without using software" qualifier.

Well its not that simple and its not that hard eather..u dowload ophrack live cd burn it on a cd and boot it..its that simple and folow the instuction..

guys i have new trick 4 u but i hope it will be a secret this is used in haking stuff i will tell u some of it and hope u will have wat it takes!..ok lets start first there is 2 many backdors in windows xp..if ur problem is in the adminitrative user password its a bit tricky but it works..ther is many way u can do it just take the easy 2 for u.....

This one gives you full read/write access, and admin access. It does not work on Windows 2000 anymore.
So, you sit and stare at the login prompt for a while, and the screen saver will come up. Here comes our attack. We replace the screensaver with a different program which will not ask for a password.
Usually you can log in with a guest or regular user account. Do that and go to the directory \Windows\System32 and replace the login screensaver with the command line prompt.

    cd \Windows\System32
    ren logon.scr login.bak
    copy cmd.exe logon.scr

To save time, you might want to change the time out in the registry from 900 seconds to something shorter, but that goes to far in an epinion. (search under \HKEY_USERS\DEFAULT)

Then reboot, and just wait for the screensaver to come up. It will be the command line prompt and you'll have access to the computer. Full access! You can run the user manager, create a new account and give it admin privileges or just change the admin password...

Also don't forget to restore the original screen saver.

There is a program out there floating around that is called Password cracker XP. This is a Linux tool that will find the SAM file and display all the user names and passwords. It will also allow you to change the password for a user.

I forget my password: latitude E6400

Hi,

This is only possible if you are using Windows XP. If your operating system is windows Xp, follow the steps below:

  1. Turn on your laptop and allow it get to the stage where is will ask for user/log password
  2. Press Ctrl + Alt + Del your keyboard.
  3. A user name and password prompt will pop up.
  4. On the user name type in "administrator
  5. On the password, type in "administrator
  6. and you windows will open, go to control panel from there to change the password.
That's all. In other words, the user name and password is administrator.

But in the case of windows Vista, you will have to re-run windows operating system, because vista security is very tight and it is difficult to break into its password.

Take care.

HOW TO UNLOCK MY MAC BOOK I FORGOT MY UNLOCK CODE

When working with Mac OS, you're required to use an administrator password to install just about anything. If you forget your password, or if you're using a hand-me-down computer and you don't know the previous owner's password, there is no workaround to bypass the admin password. Your only solution is to reset the password with the discs the computer came with. This project has two phases. Changing the admin password is the first step, but you must also follow through and change the keychain login as well.
Instructions
Things You'll NeedMac OS X install CDResetting the Administrator Password in OS X

1 Locate the Mac OS X install disc your computer came with. If you don't have it, you may be able to get another one from Apple by calling (800) SOS-APPL. (You will most likely have to buy another one.) Insert the disc into the optical drive.
2 Restart the computer while holding down the "C" key. A "Utilities" or "Installer" menu will appear, depending on which version of OS X you are running. Select "Reset Password."
3 Select "Macintosh HD" from the available volumes. On the drop-down menu, select the name of the original administrator account. Do not select "System Administrator."
4 Choose a new password and enter it in the two fields. Click "Save."

Resetting the Keychain Password in OS X

1 Go to the "Go" menu from the Finder. Select "Utilities" and scroll down to locate "Keychain Access." Double-click it.
2 Select "Keychain List" from the "Edit" menu.
3 Highlight the "login" keychain and delete it. The next time you log in to the account you can save your new password.
Don't forget to backup your files before you change anything. Your files shouldn't be affected, but it's better to be safe than sorry.
Thank you and Goodluck

Admin problem

We can not help you break passwords on computers. This is illegal for us to do in case the machine is stolen. The password prompt you are getting was most likely set by HP and you will have to call them for it.

My daughter has a clamshell laptop and she changed her master password about 2 months ago and can not remember it. Is there anyway to reset the password?

Resetting the original administrator account password Follow these steps to reset a password when there is only one administrator account on the computer, or if the original administrator account (of several) needs a password reset. "Original" administrator account refers to the one that was created immediately after installing Mac OS X. If the original administrator password is known, the original administrator user may reset the passwords of other administrator accounts using the steps described above.
  1. Start up from a Mac OS X Install CD (one whose version is closest the the version of Mac OS X installed). You should first disable Open Firmware password protection, if it is enabled. Hold the C key as the computer starts.
  2. Choose Reset Password from the Installer menu (or Utilities menu in Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger). Tip: If you don't see this menu or menu choice, you're probably not started from the CD yet.
  3. Select your Mac OS X hard disk volume.
Set the user name of your original administrator account.

Important: Do not select "System Administrator (root)". This is actually a reference to the root user. Do not confuse it with a normal administrator account.
  • Enter a new password.
  • Click Save.

  • If you want your default keychain to be unlocked automatically when you log in, synchronize your Keychain Access and account login passwords by doing this:
    1. Open Keychain Access (you can get to it by choosing Utilities from the Go menu in the Finder).
    2. From the Edit menu, choose Change Password for Keychain "login."
    3. Type the former password of the account that you are currently logged in to, then click OK.
    4. If you entered the correct password, a new window appears; enter the original password again in the Current Password field.
    5. In the New Password field, type the password that matches your current account password.
    6. Re-enter the newer password in the Verify field, then click OK.
In Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger, if you change your account's password using your Mac OS X Tiger Install disc (or if your network-based account password is changed due to a network admin forcing a password change), your default keychain password (which uses the same initial password as your user account) does not change. Because of this, you will be prompted to enter a keychain password each time an application requires authentication that your keychain would normally provide.

I don't remember my original (former) account password If this is the case, you'll have to delete the keychain.
    1. In Keychain Access, choose Keychain List from the Edit menu.
    2. Delete the "login" keychain.
The next time you log in to the account, you can save your current password in a keychain.

If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it.
    Thanks, Joe
