Trey locked hello, im having trouble with my sony dvp-ns700h player. somehow the disc tray got locked and cannot open. there is a movie in the player now. i try to open tray and the screen says locked tray. any help?

If the Sony DVP-NS77H DVD player displays "TRAY LOCKED" and you can't eject a disc or open the tray, try the following - First turn the unit off. Then, while holding down the eject, play and stop buttons simultaneously (on the front of the DVD player), turn the unit on with the '/O button (also on the front of the player). This released the locked tray for me.

Ensure the child lock feature is disabled. Try Power resetting the Player.
Turn Off the player and remove the power plug from the wall outlet for 1 minute and reconnect it and check the operation.
If the disc tray still does not open, simultaneously press the POWER + STOP + EJECT buttons.
If the disc tray still does not open, simultaneously press the DISC1 + STOP + EJECT buttons or the RETURN + ENTER+ POWER buttons.
If the issue still persists, service might be required.

check your burner program, make sure you burn your disks at the right speed.

the dvd player lens damaged. -please change it with good technician

make sure its set to progresive scan that will get rid of any lag

This is one of those fixes that makes you feel really stupid. We called Best Buy (where we purchased the system) and they told us to unplug the DVD player and plug it back in again. It worked! Duh!

probably you locked it mistakenly, what you should do leave the player in standby, press RETURN, ENTER and then POWER buttom again. watch a nice movies.
