if you are renting it return it and be sure that they know of the problem if you bought it call the number in the label on the back of the cleaner and check your warrantee it will be able to cover it as long as you are still in the time period that they gave you if you are renting one they should give you your money back or rent you another one for the same time at no cost to you

The beater bar will turn itself off if something became lodged in the brushbar area - it turns itself off so that it doesn't cause any further damage. If this is the case, recline the machine, turn it on and press the gray button next to the red power button. This is the brushbar's ON/OFF switch.
