If you bought through paypal which is part of EBay you should find if the product has been misold i.e.supplied not fit for purpose such as incorrect voltage for your country then a refund should be in order.the next stage is to email bay's resolution centre who will then start the ball rolling.however there usually is a period of time that has to elapse after the purchase date before you can begin this process.don't ask me why, one of those silly eBay rules.there is a guy who sells a similar product on eBay who is famous for his books on juicing and it is 240volt system.other option is to buy a step down transformer to enable this USA product to work without burning it out.
Not even in Australia, but from nowhere in the world, anybody can send a complaint to them [Ebay] about their consignment; I'm sure. SUCH A GOOD; DEPENDABLE SERVICE IS THEIRS' !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Try cleaning the video heads. This should restore a clear playback picture, but it depends on the age, quality, and condition of the tapes used. You can obtain a commercially available VHS cleaner (either from an electronics store if they still sell them) or look on eBay (any country) for one. eBay Australia has a seller offering VHS head cleaners as new (wet type) - never used for under $15AUD each plus shipping. Just one idea.
Or you can carefully remove the top cover and clean the heads manually - with isopropyl alcohol solution and a soft clean cloth - but do so gently to remove stubborn dirt (again this bottle of chemical is available from electronics stores). This is inexpensive and should fix the problem. Replace the pinch roller if it is shiny/glazed (or clean it if possible - gently and evenly to remove the shine - it's better to replace it though). This is also a cheap part. Generics are available from most spare parts suppliers. Have a look there also if necessary. This should NOT require workshop attention and should only cost a bottle of isopropyl. Good luck.
