Re: FH50005 carpet cleaner stopped running after 2minutes...
Hi Rae! You may have a tripped breaker or blown fuse if the cleaner shut off your first two minutes of use. Replace fuse and reset breakers if needed. Also check that the plug is plugged in firmly into the outlet. If the cleaner still won't turn on we recommend taking it in to a Hoover authorized service center for repair. Watch out after repair center make sure all is ok, I used mine a couple of times motor burned out, replaced and brush turbine not working, Hoover has no warranty repair records. It is not recommended to continue using your Hoover Power Dash Pet Carpet Cleaner if it smells like burning rubber. This could be a sign of a serious problem, such as a motor issue or a malfunctioning part, and continuing to use it could result in further damage or even a safety hazard.
It's best to stop using the cleaner immediately and unplug it from the power source. You can then try to diagnose and fix the problem yourself, or take it to a professional for repair.
If you need to remove excess water from your carpet, you can try using towels or a wet/dry vacuum to soak up the moisture. However, keep in mind that using a damaged or malfunctioning cleaner may not effectively clean your carpets and could potentially cause more damage.

The brush on this model is controlled by the on/carpet/floor switch and will only work in the carpet position. If the suction motor is running then it could be the roller brush motor, but it's more likely to be the microswitch which stops the brush motor when the handle is returned to the upright position.
The reason for the brushes to stop when it is above any surface is there is a switch in the handle that stops the brushes so it dont burn your motor up it may have a faulty switch.
Then make sure no moisture accumulated in the circuits. Mine got the same problem.. after running trouble free for several years it suddenly stop running after the first few minutes..when i opened it a lot of moisture in the circuit. I tot it was toasted. so i took my hair blower and sealed it back and replace the moisture absober (it was soaked).. after first run it would run only the SELF TEST mode.. i tried several method to make it run all the way to the main program.. the solution.. start it and make sure it will not tilt in the first 10 minutes before you let i run sideways to the walls, this makes the program run back to normal.
The brushes will only work if the handle is released and the ProHeat vacuum is running . There is a micro switch inside the lower handle that switches on the DC carpet brush motor. The DC power for the motor comes from a Bridge Rectifier on the PC Board. [email protected]
