We moved UK and lost some barrel nuts for the full bed.I went to the store here but they don't have the size that I need and can't tell me what is the size for them. I can order from here on line but have no clue the size I am looking for. Can some one help? Thank you.
The number of different sizes is confusing and it is important to measure carefully in order to order the right ones.
Few people will be able to tell you what size you need and I can't. When I bought two sets of bedbolts online a while ago I found the barrel nuts and bolts were supplied in sets and I needed to know the bolt diameter and length and the diameter and length of the barrel nut. The website I used showed how to measure and if you still have a nut this will be simple for you.
I had no nuts or bolts and had to start from scratch, which was simple once I had found something like a rod or tube that was a good fit in the bedframe - a matter of inserting it and marking it and then measuring the diameter and the distance to the mark.
In reality I found the sets of bolts so cheap it made little sense not to order spares. They arrived 2 days later. If you are in any doubt why not order a few sizes...
The method of fixing the bedframe together is so crude even the wrong size of nut and bolt will sometimes be enough to hold it together, though for strength and reliability the right size is obviously better.
I suggest a google search for bed bolts and nuts and then visit a few sites to check ways of discovering how to measure.
