I only buy uniden as was under the impression that they were the best but I can never hear the person at the other end (only faintly?) I have only one phone line and am running a landline and broadband form it. I have moved the reciever away form the moniter about 2 metres and I move away froim the monitor when trying to hear the call. None of this works - please help!!

The first one I bought didn't have this problem, it just kept cutting out, then I bought a 2.4ghz model and it doesn't cut out, you just can't hear the person on the other end. I have just had a look at my phone and it doesn't have a button to turn up anything other than ring. Thanks for the suggestion though????? Do you think I need to buy a 5.8ghz - am afraid to try again as this is costing a fair bit for me.The first one I bought didn't have this problem, it just kept cutting out, then I bought a 2.4ghz model and it doesn't cut out, you just can't hear the person on the other end. To turn the handset volume up, you must be using the phone. Press talk - or call someone... and while talking - use the volume button to adjust the handset volume level. To turn the handset volume up, you must be using the phone. uniden australia service division phone number --1300-366-895
uniden new zealand service division phone number---(09)-2738377

basically you need the number of a local service agent that can advise you or fix the fault If the phone is still under warranty take it back to the retailer and get a new unit under warranty as the problem may be in the microphone in the hand piece
when anyone ring us, we can't hear them they are faint . they can hear us fine. is there a function on the phone or machine were i can turn the volume up to hear them ???
If it's in warranty, I would send it back. It sounds like a problem with the built-in amplifier and possibly other components.
The squealing and echo is down to gain being too high, if you cannot set this on the phone, then it's a fixed value in the hardware. If you can, lower the gain. As for not being able to end the call, what about pressing the "c" button or the green button again?
