Wet saws make cutting thick or strong tiles easier, they also make it easier to make multiple cuts on a tile. It takes longer to use the wet stone so if you don't really have to use it then cutting with a tile cutter will go much faster.
Usually, nuts and bolts are Righty-Tighty, Lefty-Loosy, but frequently saw blad nuts use a Lefty-Tighty, Righty-Loosy.
They are built so that when the blade starts to turn, it puts a momentum on the nut that tightens it, so that a loose nut won't come flying off, and get someone injured.
I am a contractor who has used this saw for about four years. I just ordered the new motor for $79. The Husky has been a great saw. Don't waste your money buying some junk for Harbor Freight.
The shaft threads seemed to be stripped and you may have to get a set of Torx bits or if not then one bit for the torx screws to take them off. If the threads are stripped on the shaft then you may have to replace it. Ken S.
