DCS oven noise

My DCS oven gets up to temperature fine and holds it fine, but it makes a ''pulsating'' noise or thumping noise while in use. Sounds like a midget in there pounding away trying to get out. Is this normal? I called a tech who suggested it was the metal expanding, but it doesn't sound like that at all.

RGV2-485GDN - DCS Fisher Paykel gas oven on range will not reach high temperature

Based on the information you provided, it sounds like you have already done a thorough job troubleshooting and attempting to resolve the issue with your DCS Fisher Paykel gas oven.
If the oven is not reaching high temperatures even after you have replaced the igniter and dual gas valve, and swapped the circuit board from the working side, there are a few other things you can check:
  1. Check the oven thermostat: The thermostat is responsible for regulating the temperature in the oven. If it is not functioning properly, it may be preventing the oven from reaching high temperatures. You can test the thermostat with a multimeter to see if it is functioning correctly.
  2. Check the oven temperature sensor: The temperature sensor is located inside the oven and sends temperature readings to the control board. If it is not working properly, it can cause the oven to not heat up to the desired temperature. You can test the sensor with a multimeter to see if it is functioning correctly.
  3. Check for obstructions in the gas line: If there is a blockage or obstruction in the gas line, it can prevent the oven from getting enough gas to heat up to high temperatures. Check the gas line for any debris or blockages and clean them out if necessary.
  4. Check the regulator: The regulator is responsible for regulating the pressure of the gas going into the oven. If it is not functioning properly, it can prevent the oven from heating up to high temperatures. You can test the regulator with a gas pressure gauge to see if it is functioning correctly.
If none of these solutions solve the problem, it may be best to contact a qualified technician to further diagnose and repair the issue with your oven. They will have access to a service manual and specialized tools needed to diagnose and repair the oven.

HELLO , I HAVE A 30 INCH DCS OVEN SELF CLEANING DOOR WILL NOT UNLOCK AFTER 5 HOURS AND IT NEVER GOT HOT , WILL NOT OPEN AND ITS MAKING NOISE . ANY HELP PLEASE ?

Hi Steve, from what you're describing,it sounds like you've got a bad door lock motor. It should have 2 check switches on the assembly. If one or both of those switches are bad,the control will not read the lock as being engaged so it will not allow the cleaning cycle to start. To get the oven door open you need to pull the locking hook over to the right with a coat hanger. To access the lock assembly you have to get under the top. It's a pain in the rear end but it is doable. Hope that helps and good luck.

Dcs oven wos130 wont reach set temperature on bake

Good afternoon Steve!
The answer may depend a bit on what you mean by 'stops heating'.
  • One interpretation could be 'the heating shuts off, and the oven goes back toward room temperature
  • The other would be that it heats up, but it heats to a certain temp and then stays there. it's just not as hot as it's supposed to be.
If it's the former, that sounds like something is overheating and an interlock is engaging because it's interpreted as 'I'm too hot where I shouldn't be, and I should shut off before I cause a fire. I'd leave that to a better trained service tech.

If it's the latter, then it'll depend on how low it is. If it's way low, then there's a couple possibilities:
  1. The heater element is defective, and even at the full current draw the oven can run, it can't get any hotter than that upper temp. This would mean replacing the element.
  2. The temperature sensor in the oven is defective or mis-mounted. There should be a temp sensor inside the oven cavity. if it's disconnected, or, say, bent out of place and much nearer the bake element then it should be, then the heat coming direct off of the element may be fooling it into thinking the oven is hotter than it really is. this could mean replacing the temp sensor, or just re-mounting it to proper position.
If it's just a bit low, then there could just be a calibration problem. If you look at the manual here
DCS WOS 127 Use And Care Manual Child Safety User Option you can see how to adjust the calibration up or down in temperature to, hopefully, match the oven thermometer you're trying to use as a check.

Hope this helps!
Good Luck

DCS 5 burner 30" oven makes loud noises as if starved for fuel

Hi; Is the oven run with LP or NAT gas. Sounds like a regulator problem not letting enough gas through. Also is this a comercial unit. If so when was the last time all burners and pilot orafices were cleaned out. The burner tubes have a air vent cut into the burner at the orafice. Make sure no debris have covered these airways. And lastly how old are the thermocouples and are they secure to the gas valves and have a good pilot flame on them...

Microwave makes a thumping sound then no heat

sounds like the hi voltage diode or capacitor are intermittant, the thump is the transformer drawing current when the magnetron tube calls for hi voltage to operate, you will see the lights dim slightly every time it cycles the mag tube for heat

Heater works great but a/c wont blow.

If I understand your problem, your heat works, but no A/C. It sounds like the blend door motor is not moving the door to the cool position. This could be caused by a bad blend door motor, or a bad interior temperature sensor. Because you said you heard a banging noise, it sounds like the blend door is stuck. The interior temp sensor would make no noise.

DCS 4 burner plus griddle Range..oven doesn't heat

This happened to my DCS when the Hot Wire Relay went out. It isn't an expensive part, but finding someone that knows what needs to be replaced, and then can replace it is hard. My oven also did the opposite and continued to heat without shutting off, and it was once again the hot wire relay.
