kenmoore model 76523 , ss bottom freezer. this unit is about 2 years old. suddenly the refrigerator completely stopped cooling but the freezer is fine, the lights work correctly but the digital display does not change temp control on any settings. I disconnected the power for an hour, i was then able to change all control settings but the refrigerator still not working. then after an hour the controls would not adjust anymore only display numbers and temp. would alarm .note; the freezer works but unable to adjust freezer controler. temp. did show as freezer cooling.all coils are frost free and clean.

    any suggestions?

Having same problem with flashing lights on control panel & dump valve for ice/water dispenser flapping open/shut! Problem rectifies itself temporarily, BUT then starts after a few moments again..seems to be when motor is running to cool the fridge.

Please provide any help, as we are located in rural Canada & so will wait a while for a tech!

I have the White Model of this Refrigerator PN 596.77532600. Lights flashing erratically and disconnecting power not the answer. Removed the front panel on the left hand side and removed the three wire connector feeding into the right hand side of the opening. I believe that this control wiring goes back up inside to the ice maker. After applying power, the door for the ice stopped opening/closing, the flashing lights stopped and the fridge appears to be working, staying cool in the fridge and frozen in the lower section. Turned the ice maker switch off, removed the ice from the ice tray and will try to hook up the three wire connector tomorrow to see if problem is related the ice jam or water pressure / water frozen in the line / water inlet issue.

Kenmore 77532 french door bottom freezer flashing lights and flapping ice door...jammed the door open on the ice dispenser and pulled fridge out away from wall, while I typed this suddenly came back to normal. Maybe it was too hot. It is late so maybe I will remove small access panel in morning and hope it was just an overheating problem

This sounds like the Maytag bottom mount that has a High Voltage Control Board problem. Does this have the freezer/fridge temp. display/controls on the left hand fridge door? Whats the model number and on the manufacture tag does it something on it like Code:0304 maybe? Let me know I may have an answer I do work on these for a living.

I put in a new ice maker ( the old one broke) and it only dumped ice once

Make sure the door switch operates the light in the freezer because power is supplied to the im through this switch. Insure the freezer is 15 degrees or lower, these temps need to be reached before the im will cycle. Access the blue tube on the blue valve, disconnect it and blow through it. If you cant blow through it look at the tube that comes from the ceiling to the ice maker and check for ice blocking the tube. If water is coming through the dispenser then the water line that feeds the valve is not frozen and you either have a bad valve or a restricted fill tube.

Kenmore refrigerator model 2535466940A, stop making ice, stop dispensing water, replaced filer, held filter reset, still no water. Don't know if ice is making

Hello,

ICEMAKERS OFTEN STOP DUE TO A WARMER THAN USUAL FREEZER TEMPERATURE. MEASURE THE TEMP AND IF IT IS UNDER 10 DEGREES F. IT SHOULD BE DUMPING ICE. (IT WOULD HAVE FASTER PRODUCTION IF SET TO O DEGREES.) IF IT HAS A "NO WATER" PROBLEM YOU WILL HEAR IT HUM FROM TIME TO TIME AS IT CYCLES BUT DOESN'T DUMP ICE. THE EASY WAY TO CHECK FOR A 'NO WATER' PROBLEM IS TO TIE A 10 INCH OR SO PIECE OF LIGHT TWINE ONTO THE SHAFT AND CHECK IN A FEW HOURS TO SEE IF THE SHAFT IS WINDING THE TWINE UP ONE TURN PER CYCLE. IF TEMP IS COLD ENOUGH AND IT IS CYCLING THEN THERE IS NO WATER GETTING TO THE ICEMAKER. POUR A CHARGE OF WATER IN THE TRAY/MOLD AND IT MAKES ICE AND DUMPS ONLY THE ONE LOAD IS ANOTHER WAY OF CHECKING. THE NEXT MOST LIKELY PROBLEMS MIGHT BE A WATER LINE FROZEN DUE TO A SUPER COLD FREEZER OR A BAD SOLENOID VALVE. I HAVE NOT SEEN IT BUT I WOULD CHECK THE WATER FILTER ALSO. IF THIS DOES NOT SOLVE THE PROBLEM-YOU NEED TO GET THE MODEL NO. AND SERIAL NO. OFF OF THE NAMEPLATE. I BELIEVE YOU HAVE TAKEN IT FROM THE BOOKLET AND YOU ARE SHORT SOME DIGITS.

HOPE THIS HELPOUT , GOOD LUCK IN SOLVING THE PROBLEM

My refrig stop making ice after I changed the water filter. I had the filter out for about 3 hrs, would this cause the problem?

Hi, first , pour about 2/3 cup of water into the ice maker . If if freezes , and dumps , replace the water valve. If it does not dump the cubes , replace the ice maker. After pouring the water into the ice maker , remove the bottom kick panel , and clean the bottom coils , of dust , lint , pet hair , etc , as this will raise the freezer temp . An ice maker has to be 5 degrees , to operate , correctly . If ice maker starts working , after cleaning the coils , GREAT ! ( it does happen ) .

Take care

Kenmore 56541 side by side icemaker nor making ice The in door water dispencer works Arm on tray is on no water getting to tray

1.Bad water valve located in the back bottom of refrigerator.
2. Frozen fill tube going into back of ice maker. (common problem)
3. Ice maker not cycling. Pour water into ice maker cavity until near filled.
Wait a few hours and see if it dumps.
4.In rare cases, the switch in the ice maker body fails. Ice maker will cycle but not tell water valve to refill.

Ice maker stopped working

The laser , is supposed to blink . This laser , tells the icemaker to stop making ice , when the bin is full . Pour about 2/3 cup of water into the icemaker . If it doesn't dump the cubes into the bin , the icemaker is bad . Or , if there is ice in the bin , which hasn't dumped , the icemaker is bad . If the icemaker dumps the ice ( from water pour ) , then look above the fill cup , and see if the black fill tube is frozen . If so , then replace the water valve and turn the freezer temp down slightly . It will take several days for this fill line inside freezer to thaw . If icemaker dumps , and black tube NOT frozen , replace the water valve . The valve , is where the wall water line connects to on the refrig .

Can't identify "water filter indicator light"

the indicator light could be on the control panel inside the refr section if your controls are there, or it is most likely on the front of the dispenser panel. it only comes on when you draw water from the dispenser and thats when you will see it be green, filter ok, yellow, filter at 80% life, or red, time to replace the water filter.
also you dont need to shut off the water when changing the filter as it is made with a shut off device in the filter housing already and is automatic.
by the way filters are expensive, go online and check prices. google "water filters" and find a good price.
