I have a question about the JDSU battery pack. i have an HST 3000 battery pack. The connector for the charger was broken, i replaced the connector and the batteries. when i charge the unit the red LED is blinking which is normal. after charging the battery the green LED should turn on when its fully charged. But even after charging it over night for atleast 8 hours when the charger is unplugged the red LED is still blinking. Does it take that long for the battery pack to charge to full or is something wrong with it?

If you still have the 12V car adapter it ships with, you can buy a 12V supply with a cigarette lighter connector and use that .

You could try contacting their main distributor who lists the complete device :http://www.lightinthebox.com/godox-pb820-backup-external-battery-pack-for-speedlite-vsp-136265_p995394.html , but does not list the charger alone.

Failing the distributor, try contacting the factory. They offer direct contact for support ([email protected]),including skype chat ([email protected] for MSN/skype).

Adorama sells the "Flashpoint" series of devices which seem to be relabeled versions of Godox products, but only sell the 960 larger power pack not the 820.

I read that the 820 DIN cable connector is compatible with Quantum cables. That *might* mean that one of the Quantum chargers *might* work for you, as those use a DIN connector for some of the rechargeable Quantum batteries. I once adapted a wall adapter for charging a Quantum battery pack and used a DIN connector. Unfortunately the Quantum chargers are expensive and there are a number of different models,so it may be difficult to figure out what will work for yo.

Most likely you have a blown charger or the battery pack is bad in the speaker. You can try checking the charger if you have access to a test meter, but it might be easier to find another charger with the same specifications and connector, and same connector polarization. I would suggest starting there.
If you can confirm that the charger is putting out voltage, or have a replacement, and it still doesn't work, then consider getting a replacement battery pack.
Testing both the charger and battery pack with a multimeter first, if you can, is the cheapest way to troubleshoot the problem.

I know you can get these on Ebay. Also most NI-MH 9 volt battery charges will charge this battery pack. You can use a 9 Volt Snap Battery Connector with Alligator Clips to bridge the connection between the battery pack and the NI-MH 9 volt batter charger. This is how I charge this battery pack now. You can probably get the 9 Volt Snap Battery Connector with Alligator Clips at a radio shack or on Amazon... as well as a NI-MH 9 volt battery charger.. don't hook up the leads backwards :)

I agree with ceocass, however if you find that the contacts are clean and you have made certain that the charging cradle is plugged in you may simply need to replace the battery.
Please note that the replacement batteries for the MX3000 Universal Remote Control, p/n's Powercard PC046067-H & PC036067V3 have been discontinued.

Had a similar problem, it shouldn't take that long to charge. Try reseting the battery gauge, you'll find this under Power management. Only reset when you think the battery is full.

the battery may be faulty or the charger. try a different charger and see what happens. one of them is the problem good luck.

junked the charger connectors and replaced the connectors with better type of connectors that an old man can get a hold of to take apart to connect the charger when needed very poor design for elderly use.

There are 4 reasons why your unit is behaving this way:
1. Charger is the problem.
2. The docking station is the broken.
3. The battery is broken or not accepting charge.
4. The actual unit is the problem.
It is very hard to tell which one is causing this to happen.
Let us do some troubleshooting first:
1. Plug your charger in an A/C outlet and make sure the red power light (left) is lit, otherwise the charger or the docking station is broken.
2. You can test the charger with a multimeter. Unplug the charger from the docking station and measure the voltage across the outside and inside, it should register more than 5 volts DC. If there is a 5Volt DC the docking station is the problem otherwise the charger is broken.
3. If the red power light is lit and the status light (right) is lit too, your docking station is broken.
4. If the red power light is lit, dock the unit into the charger, the status light (left) should turn red when your battery is accepting charge or turn blue when your battery is fully charged.
5. If the status light will not lit at all (while the red power light is on), tap the screen while the unit is docked on the charger. If the unit will become alive, you need a new battery otherwise you need a new unit.

12 hours is very long time to charge, the status light should turn to blue in less than 2 hours especially for a new battery.
