Blue Rectangle Have blue rectangular box that I can't get rid of that displays all of the tv's feature's. Almost like a mode the salespeople would turn on so if you were looking at tv's in the store, you would know all of the features it offers.

    Thanks Jaime867.

    Unfortunately unplugging it didn't work and neither the TV or the remove have anything anywhere with DEMO on it. If you come up with any other suggestions, I would love to try them.

    Hey Jaime,

    Thank you so much! That fixed that problem, however, it has now created another one....now the screen is mostly covered by a big black box. Any thoughts? This is the tv my kids watch video's on and without it they're driving me nuts!!!!! Help !!!

Try disconnecting the TV from the power outlet and leave OFF for a couple of minutes.
If that did not work, try pressing the "DEMO" button on the remote or the front panel if you have one, or you may want to go into menu and look for something that says "demo"

    Try the following:

    With power ON, press PLAY/REPEAT on the unit for 7 seconds to deactivate the SELF DEMO MODE.

Hi i think this is the model we also have any way we taped a few tv shows and it worked fine. Also watched them and it still worked. We then rewound the tape all the way to watch it again and when we play it all it will show is the blue screen unless we fast forward it or rewind it or pause it no sound is heard while this happens. can u help us. thanks sunny

When I power on my Memorex tv a blue rectangular box appears in top center of the screen and hold over there with 255 number.
If this happens only in certain channels, notice that this TV has different close caption modes and that could be the reason for the blue box on the screen so you can try by switching between cc modes to fix it. The problem can also be related to some new codified content sent by the cable distributer so try contacting them to know if this the case or contact the Memorex tech support at 1-877-363-6673 option 2. They should know better.

A blue rectangular box with numbers appears in the upper right corner of the picture when we play a disc. We cannot get rid of it. It spoils the viewing.
look on the remote (tv and dvd) for a button that says "info" or a button with a picture of a tv with a symbol in the corresponding corner. WOuld help to know the make and model for both of these.

go into your menu and find closed caption, someone has accidently set the closed caption mode to text, when the on screen display of channel or volume goes away the box appears. turn off the closed caption feature or switch it to something other than "text" mode, and your box will go away.

Can't get rid of black box
You have your TV in the "Teletext" mode. Go into the TV menu and select the closed-captioning menu and turn off the text function. What you are seeing is the result of the TV's captioning circuit latching onto a false text pilot signal and then throwing up the black box on the screen.

I am happy to help.
The blue box is the Picture in Picture function. Press the PIP button on remote till gone.
The No Entry Sign on the inputs is because nothing is connected to these inputs.
Unless  I an mistaken you have only a HDMI cable connected.
