the service flashing light just means that something is not operating correctly. Most common thing would be that the condenser needs cleaning. it is behind the grill that is removable. Vacuum the coils and turn the unit off for one minute and then turn it back on to reset the service light.
ASK HIM TO LEAN THE OIL BY FLUSHING AND PUT THE ANTIMOIST,EVEN THERE MAY BE EAKAGE ON THE JOINTS.DID HE CHANGED THE FILTER BEAUSE IT IS NESSASARY TO CHANGE.CHECK IF THERE IS BLOCKAGE IN CAPPILARY
DEFROST UNDER HEAT IS THE CODE DESCRIPTION. IF YOU HAVE A BELL BUTTON HOLD IT 15-20 SECONDS TO CLEAR. IF THERE IS NO BELL BUTTON POWER OFF THEN POWER ON TO REST AND SEE IF CODE COMES BACK AND THEN CALL FOR SERVICE. 1-800-222-7820
Hold alarm key for 15 seconds to clear control and clean the condenser. If the service light comes on call for service as you most ;likely have a leak.
Rhino, this is yet another simple fix. You need to call subzero and let them know that your ref section is not cooling properly. 9 out of 10 times it will be a problem with the evaporator coil needing replacement. Sub is aware of this issue and usually picks up the tab for this repair.
If you replace the fan and clean the coils, and the refrigerator STILL does not cool, then contact SubZero or a service provider for an evaporator coil replacement. Units manufacturer before mid-2003 had copper+aluminum coils that would corrode and allow all of the coolant to escape. The (should be warranty) replacement is all aluminum.
Note the freezer does not have this issue due to the lack of liquid water.
