Inkjet printers need to be used frequently to prevent inkdrying out in the print head nozzles.
If the print head cleaning maintenance routine does not clear the blockages,then print head needs replacing, but it may be expensive.
It may be more cost effective to buy a later model and better printer thanreplace the print head.

If the machine only prints blank pages it is because the print head is blocked. Press the "ink" button on the machine and perform up to a maximum of 5 cleanings. If this fails then call Brother at 1-877-276-8437 or write them an e-mail at [email protected]

There might be a problem with your print head. If you get in touch with them they can check your serial number and if it is within the warranty period they will send you a replacement machine. They off free tech support for life so even if they can't replace the machine, calling them or emailing them is free.

my brother mfc 7860 tells me i have a jam when i print envelopes only- there is no jam and will print the next 'page' fine- have to turn it on and off 4-5 times to get it to print one- any ideas anyone???

try cleaning the carriage assembly. the that the ink is installed at. then do the print alignment at the printer settings.

Try downoading the drivers from the apple web site. You would need the brother 1.1 drivers download.

Remove printer then added it again

Not sure of the exact problem, but try a reset on it. Press Menu, *, 2, 8, 6, 4 within 2 seconds to get into service mode. Enter 91 to do a reset then 99 to exit. See if that helps and post here!

My Brother printer MFC-465cn is doing the same thing. I have workaround / worked-around it by disabling bi-directional printing. Then print is clear. It's as if the head is shifting an irregular amount on the opposite direction, like the head is loose.

Same for copies. If I use the PC interface to make copies, I can set the copy printing to be mono-directional, then copies are clear.
