1. Select Change PIN in the Features menu. 2. Press the cursor right to enter the overriding PIN code 0-7-1-1. 3. Enter a new personal 4-digit PIN code.The previous code is erased an the new PIN-code is stored.
At one time Vizio used the code "0000" as a default built in parental control password. If you go to the screen when you setup your parental control password and enter that code you may be able to access the system again and change the password to whatever you want to use.
Unfortunately if the "0000" password does not work you will have to contact Vizio support and have then step you through the process of resetting the password. Due to security issues they will only assist the registered owner with resetting the password. If you go to the website for your TV at the following URL:
On the Top Menu you will see SUPPORT as one of the items you can choose. The drop down menu gives you a number of choices. You will probably have to use the chat option. They will probably ask you to verify the date of purchase on the TV from your receipt. They should then be able to walk you through the procedure to reset the password.
1- Power off TV 2- Unplug TV from outlet 3- Press and hold in the power button on the side of the TV for 30 seconds (while it is unplugged from the wall) 4- Release the power button 5- Plug in the TV 6- Power the TV back on
Yes - the factory default password is 9999. This can still be used even after setting your own password. If you need any assistance with changing setting the parental lock settings, please let me know.
The factory code is 0000 Try using that first if not try doing a factory default reset through your TV setup options . I believe your T.V. input cannot be setup to HDMI to access the parental control submenu. If you can't reset it give Vizio a call and they will help you figure it out. That's what they get paid for.
Contact Philips Help Desk
ask for the service dept
request a code for unlock for mode l# & Make #

Good luck and please let me know the out come thanks
I'm really guessing here - -but while you're in the parental controls screen I believe you can use 0-0-0-0 as a backdoor key. It's different for every manufacturer, Philips uses 0-7-1-1 example. But the users's manual for that TV says that the "default" is 0-0-0-0.. Don't really understand their use of that terminology so it's merely a guess...
But here's something I am really sure of;;;
The owner's manual can be downloaded for free at the Vizio web site: http://www.vizio.com/support/downloads/
and their support line is: 1-888-849-4623 or you can email tech support at: [email protected]
Hope this helps.
Good Luck
Bill
