As with all clockwork mechanisms, they all have springs and gears and side plates, they are not too hard to fix, as long as you don't release the spring, then it's a mission to get it back, into the container, (it's a bit like toothpaste comes out easy very hard to put it back into the tube)..So careful removal, and maybe just cleaning out may help, toasters are fairly simple devices, as you will see if you disassemble, remove the wires from the Timer, write down draw a diagram of where they went, now, have a good look, and maybe even do a rough drawing of how it all looks, no, give it a good clean, and grease up, and maybe you can save it. if it has open set contacts, then clean them with fine sandpaper, tighten everything up, and test it. When all is well, put back into the toaster and wire back up, check over again, and power up, stand back, and admire your work, well hopefully. Be very careful of the Elements they are very fragile...

The timer dial has stopped working. Is there an easy fix or does it mean a new timer from Dualit

This one of the most frequent problem of dualit toaster. Timer is also power electric switch whith contacts which from long time use they stuck due to sparking during contact. You need to replace the timer switch . you can find one at ebay is the same for all models. just take care the voltage 120v or 240 v. Als take a picture before remove the wires on the timer since you might forget how to put them back on the new switch since it can not be repaired

Hello, the timer on my toaster keeps sticking. It's potentially rather dangerous if you put a slice of bread in and forget about it as the timer stops but the toaster remains on.

Our Dualit toaster doesn't work. The red light doesn't work. I have changed the fuse in the socket with a working one. The timer turns normally. Yet none of the heating units heats...

You need to replace the timer-contactor. This part is acting both as timer and electrical contactor. It consist from electrical contact moved with springs on and off. Due to electrical load and extreme heat these contact have been tear out thus they can not contact properly and in your case they don't contact at all.
So from the web page of dualit or ebay you can order A new timer contactor and replace it.

Dualit 4-slice toaster stopped toasting, never heats up

We had the same problem. I took off the bottom plate, cleaned the toaster, reseated all of the connectors on the heating plates, timer, and switch, and the toaster started working again. Only one connector was slightly loose (but it was still connected with decent contact). I am not sure what fixed it. If that did not work, my next step was to purchase replacement parts online and swap out the switch, timer, and heating plates (in that order). We have an older model than yours, but I suspect that the parts are similar. The parts all look very easy to replace. These units are intended to be repaired and not replaced.

Buy and fit a new timer switch.6 screws to remove bottom cover, pull the knob off and 2 screws hidden by the knob will be revealed, these hold the timer in. Make sure you put the wires onto the new switch in the same place you took them from.
