The spark may have wiped out the programming in the microprocessor. Probably needs to be re-flashed.

Unfortunately the only way to clear the roller is painfully clipping and pulling. If you do happen to remove the roller, it's really alot of trouble to put it all back together.

So replacing the hose and or wand will not fix the problem. Suggest you stay away from "big box", retail, discount stores if you want another one.

You need to replace the hose itself. The buttons in the handle a very cheap and go bad all the time.

If it is the top cover, the monitoring panel just pops off from the backside. You can use a thin knife or screwdriver and push on the locking clips, it then just hinges off of the front clips. After that is off you can see the two screws and after the top cover hinges off the actual door to the vac bags is attached to that cover it too hinges off.
