Automatic switch off not working when water reached boiling.

My Breville electirc Kettle does not switch off after water reaches boiling. The water evaporates forever. It has to be manually switched off.

I have the same problem described above. I thought it was taking longer to turn off once boiling temperature was reached and now it just stopped turning off.

There is no do it yourself fix for this problem. However, placing a folded cloth on top of the kettle (covering the spout) will cause it to switch off quicker, as it increases the pressure inside the kettle.

I have the same problem. I think my problem is caused by the lid seal being totally deteriorated. I can't find a replacement part for the seal alone. Breville wants to sell a entire new lid for $28 but I only need a seal. Will try to find an "o" ring that size or use the towel over the top idea above.

My Bosch electric kettle is leaking and also stops working before reaching boiling point. What shld I do?

If your Bosch electric kettle is leaking and stopping before reaching boiling point, there are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue:
  1. Check for Obvious Leaks: Examine the kettle for any visible cracks, holes, or signs of damage. Ensure that the water isn't leaking from the base or any seams. If you find any leaks, it's likely that the kettle needs to be replaced, as repairing leaks can be challenging and may compromise safety.
  2. Inspect the Power Base: Examine the power base of the kettle to ensure that there are no electrical issues. Make sure the power cord is securely connected and that there are no exposed wires.
  3. Check Water Level and Boil-Dry Protection: Ensure that you are filling the kettle with an appropriate amount of water. Some electric kettles have a minimum and maximum water level indicator. Additionally, many kettles are equipped with a boil-dry protection feature, which automatically turns off the kettle if it detects insufficient water. Make sure you are not accidentally triggering this safety feature.
  4. Descale the Kettle: Mineral deposits from hard water can build up inside the kettle and affect its performance. Descaling the kettle can help improve efficiency and prevent issues. You can use a mixture of equal parts water and white vinegar to descale the kettle. Follow the manufacturer's instructions for descaling.
  5. Contact Customer Support: If the issues persist, and your kettle is still under warranty, contact Bosch's customer support or the retailer where you purchased the kettle. They may provide guidance on troubleshooting or offer a replacement if the product is defective.
  6. Consider Professional Repair: If the kettle is no longer under warranty and you cannot resolve the issues yourself, you might consider taking it to a professional appliance repair service. They can assess the problem and determine if it's worth repairing.

Breville one cup filter kettle intermittently switches off before boiling . It will work if I keep the button depressed.

Oxidized or worn thermo-switch contacts.
Or, sometimes old age (kettle!:) or overheating can cause springy contacts to bend out of shape.
Get tech-minded person to open/inspect & renew as required.

My Breville water kettle stopped heating water. This is my second teakettle to do this. We have had this second kettle for about 2 years. We always were careful to make sure the kettle is off before

Unless you can take it apart and repair it yourself, it probably isn't worth the cost to have it repaired. There are several websites that sell parts, but you really have to be familiar with electrical circuits to diagnose it. Possibilities are:
1. It could be the thermostatic switch that turns it off as it reaches temperature. These are little devices with two wires connected and are in the base of the unit. these normally reset themselves but can stop working, especially if they have gotten wet.

2. It could be the cord to the unit with a wire broken at the base or the plug end.
3. It could be a thermal fuse; these are about 1/4 inch in diameter and may be hidden in an insulating sleeve near the element; they are sensitive to both heat and current.

3. It could be the element is burned out.

How to descale a breville one cup

NOTE: Not my instructions i just found something similar.

According to the instructions for Breville Hot Cup (presumably similar to yours - the adjustable flow one):
1. Fill it to the max and dispense one cup of water.
2. Add a citric based descaling product into the cup and stir.
3. Tip contents into kettle and close lid.
4. Dispense water from the kettle, discarding the water until it reaches the 'min' mark.
5. Empty remaining water into sink, rinse out with clean water.
6. Fill kettle with fresh water and dispense cups of water until it reaches the 'min' mark. Empty the rest into the sink, then refill ready for use.

Have a problem with a Breville Classique kettle, model number jk91. It does not switch off automatically. Any suggestions please? regards Sandra Smith e-mail [email protected]

Every kettle has a thermostat/thermometer that trips the switch to off when the water reaches boiling point. The solution is not usually something you can do yourself. Your best bet is to consult the manufacturer for a repair/replacement (if under warranty). I recommend that you contact the retailer first as most retailers have an agreement with the maunufacturer to replace most small kitchen items if it's still under warranty and develops a fault.

Kettle doesn't turn off

Our first Smart Kettle was great and worked well for years, finally died so we bought another. Right from the first boil it seemed to boil for about 2 or 3 minutes before turning off and then either didn't boil or made beeping sounds when not being used so after a couple of weeks we returned it and it was replaced. Great. But now this new one seems to boil and boil before turning off so maybe they are just faulty now. Any suggestions?

How do I clean

Fill kettle until 3/4 full with 1 part vinegar and 2 parts water. Boil and allow to stand overnight.

Empty solution from kettle. Fill the kettle with clean water, bring to boil and discard water. Repeat and the kettle will be ready for use.

Or you can use a proprietary kettle descaler, which is available at most hardware stores.
