My Breville electirc Kettle does not switch off after water reaches boiling. The water evaporates forever. It has to be manually switched off.
There is no do it yourself fix for this problem. However, placing a folded cloth on top of the kettle (covering the spout) will cause it to switch off quicker, as it increases the pressure inside the kettle.
I have the same problem. I think my problem is caused by the lid seal being totally deteriorated. I can't find a replacement part for the seal alone. Breville wants to sell a entire new lid for $28 but I only need a seal. Will try to find an "o" ring that size or use the towel over the top idea above.

I have the same problem described above. I thought it was taking longer to turn off once boiling temperature was reached and now it just stopped turning off.
same problem. can it be fixed.
We have the same problem, it does switch off but rather late.

switch off
