Yes and no, the charger will probably work with the voltage and frequency in France, but the plug will not, you need to buy a North America to France AC plug adapter. These can be had for a few dollars in most places. You might even find one at the airport, even if overpriced.

We got the Nintendo DS in US and it does not charge with the adapter now in Czech Republic, Europe. Can we purchase the charger here?

As long as the voltage etc are the same and it is a suitable replacement for the particular model of DS then Yes you should be able to get and use a charger from you current country if after you have bought a new charger and it still does not charge it could very well be the charging socket or battery has failed and needs repairs or replacement depend on what has failed. I hope this helps.

I bougth reciprocating saw, model BJR 182Z and circle saw, BSS611Z while I was in the U.S.A.These tools use the 18 volt LXT Lithium-Ion battery BL 1830. I also bought this battery. However I am going to use...

Why can't you buy the 230 volt DC18RA charger in europe (amazon.europe country) and use it. I had the same issue yet i burned out the fuse in the 110 volt DC18RA charger because i plugged it into the wall just using an adaptor. Lesson learned. Therefore, my first solution was that i bought a converter from 220V-to 110 Volt. This showed me that my charger was done. So instead of getting another 110 volt charger sent here to Europe from Canada, I returned the converter and have on order a 230 volt input DC18RA charger from amazon.de which has the same 7.2-18V output. I have been told this will work yet the fear, and I don't know why, is that it will burn out the batteries in a year or so. It is difficult getting specific information from Makita, but I hope it all works out. Best of Luck for you

I have a ps3 40GB.How do i make it play dvd's i bought from Holland or PAL format disc Jenny Canada

Canada & U.S. use NTSC protocols for dvd playback, different frame rates, etc. Europe is mostly PAL. not compatible. get online with PS3, and see if they have a patch that supports PAL frame rates. if not, go to e-bay and find the dvds in region 1 format U.S./Canada.
good luck!

Down loading Europe on my TomTom 1/3

Yes you can I have europe and canada on mine.

just plug your tomtom into your computer and start tomtom home

On the computer screen for tomtom select ADD MAPS

Here you can select and buy the maps you need.

Once you have confirmed the purchase you will be given instructions on how to download etc

Some maps may take a little time to install to the tomtom itself.

you should also ensure there is enough space on your tomtom
If not you will have to get an SD memory card.

I use a 4gb one that still has lots of room to spare

Europran wii

Wii consoles are region-specific and different regions also use different television standards.

You have potentially three problems:
  1. Wii consoles are region-specific. Games for US/Canada won't work in a European Wii
  2. European Wii consoles output PAL video signals. US/Canada/Japan TVs except NTSC video signals.
  3. European Wii consoles likely require 220-volt power. US/Canada/Japan is 100-120-volt power.
So now your solutions for each:
  1. You need to get games from France (or at least Europe)
You can also look into a device called the Freeloader, but I'm not sure if it works with Wii games yet (the original allowed Gamecube consoles to play games from different regions)
  2. You'll need a multi-standard TV, or a television standards converter. Tourist-y camera shops often sell converter boxes. You need to convert from a PAL video signal to an NTSC video signal in order to connect it to your TV.
  3. Check the power adapter of the Wii. If it lists "110-240 volts" or "100-240 volts" (at least a voltage number in the 100-something range) on it, then the power supply will work and you just need an international plug adapter. You can get these from most travel stores and electronics stores.
If the power adapter does not list a voltage in the 100-something range on it, then you will need a step-up transformer - that will convert power from 120-volt to 220-volt or 240-volt. The transformer may or may not have the right type of power receptacle, so you may also need a plug adapter. Check your local electronics store for this. Tell them you have a device from Europe and want to run it on your local electrical power. They should know what you need. If you have a choice, get one that is designed for computer or laptop use, as the cheaper ones provide "dirty" power which is fine for hair dryers and such, but bad for electronics.
Hope that helps...
