Here is the Barcode Scanner Program right now, it seems like being able to scan barcode with Symbol Ls2208 handheld device.

you can use the code book to clear any prefixes that may have been set on the scanner or you can try a factory reset (using the code book)

I don't know if this applies to the LS22208.

Symbol Support FAQ says;

A slow continuous flashing LED on the LS9208 indicates that the LS9208 has been put into “programming mode” and is ready to scan programming bar codes. Once the LS9208 is correctly programmed, the LED should stop flashing and remain on, indicating that the scanner is ready for use.

A fast, continuously flashing LED on the LS9208 indicates an internal problem. When the LED is in this state, the LS9208 laser is also shut off for regulatory reasons.

We support these for some big retailers. When they call with that issue 99/100 it's reseat the cable from the base of the scanner (or the system if accesible), no re-programming).

SOURCE: how to integrate LS2208 handheld scanner in vb.net

you have to change it to IBM handheld mode and install opos drivers from symbol. then use pos.net to connect to them.
Some computers requires to create some config files to connect through hardware address. It took me like 6 month to figure out but now it works

It is the link to the PDF support for the scanner. It has barcodes you can scan to program the scanner to press enter or tab when it is done!

Hi my name is christian canola and i purchased a symbol ls2208 barcode scanner from geminicomputers and i downloaded the program 123 scan2 for my barcode scanner and i click on my scanner is connected via...

Hi Christian, if your scanner was manufactured before February 2010 it may not be able to communicate directly with 123Scan2 so you wont be able to upgrade firmware with the program, but you will still be able to use it to create configuration sheets. These are the only two uses for 123Scan2.

To create a configuration sheet without "finding" the scanner click Create New Configuration then choose My scanner is NOT connected. Select the LS2208 and click on the blue firmware button to get into the configuration. When you have completed your configuration click the Print bar codes selection at the top of the window and when the file comes up be sure to click on the Bar code formatting menu and change the Bar code type to 1D One setting per barcode if it is not already there. Older scanners will not work with concatenated 1D barcodes where 123Scan2 puts more than one setting into a barcode.

Reversing first 2 digits of barcode

Attached are the programming barcodes for the LS2208 solve this problem. Print the attached file and scan the barcodes in order 1-10. This will only work on a LS2208. If you scan the Set Defaults barcode it will erase this programming rule.

LS2208 scanner unrecognized by my HP notebook

It is not likely VISTA will run your scanner software as it is very old. However you could check program compatibility mode and set it to run as Win 95/8 Check compatibility in Start/Programs/Accessories or go to my Computer Windows Help[ and type compatibility in the search field But I don't think you will get far.

Scanner Symbol Ls2208 keyboard not work

The scanner does not detect the keyboard host on power up and is locking up your keyboard. The IBM PC/AT host type barcode must be scanned the first time it is setup. The barcode is on Adobe page 56 of 342 of the LS2208 Product Reference Guide. The scanner should start working immediately after the host type barcode is scanned.
