    No i am not trying to Connect 2 UPS's

    There is only one UPS MGE 2200

    I just want to increase the Backup time by adding more batteries outside of UPS similer to Additional Battery Bank.

    Orignally UPS has 6 batteries inside the case.

    You know there is an option Pulsar M EXB (optional Battery Module) which uses Two Cables to connect to Standard UPS Assembly Pulsar M 2200.

    For connecting this optional Battery Module we probably need Two Cable to Connect to UPS MGE Mulsar 2200.

    One is Charging Cable for external Batteries charging which is connected on Back of UPS Connector (No. 6 as per Documentation) where as

    2nd cable is required for Automatic Recognition Optional Module Pulsar M EXB (Optional Battery Module).

    Q1- From where i can order this Charging Cable (with Black 5 pin Connector) and Recognition Cable (Automatic Recognition of battery modules).

    Q2 Breif Detail:

    Normally there are 6 small batteries within orignal UPS Assembly with rating 12V - 7AH

    and that makes total of 72V for Inner Assembly.

    If we plane to buy 6 Bigger batteries (12V with 120/140AH) and want them to connect using the

    Same Charging Cable which is used for Optional (Module Pulsar M EXB).

    Now question is

    Q2.1: Can we use the same Connection provided orignally for Optional Module Pulsar M EXB for

    these 6 Additioanl Big Batteries (12V-120/140AH).

    Q2.2 : 2ndly for Automatic Recognition of these Additional Batteries how you connect or jumper

    the connection?

  • Anonymous Sep 29, 2010

    1) UPS is from MGE not from APC.
    2) Is there any other source to get cheaper solution might be used than Huge Profit maker manufactures?

  • Anonymous Sep 29, 2010

    I am only looking the Hard copy - Manual which comes with the UPS.

Hey there

To add additional back up battery

1.Connect one end of the battery cable into the external battery port that is located on the back of the new battery box.

2.Connect the other end of the cable to the external battery port that is located on the back of the battery backup system.

3.Repeat steps 1 and 2 for additional battery boxes that you want to add to the battery backup system.

NOTE; If your battery backup system is not expandable, you will not be able to add another battery box.

You can find the charging cable at any electronics outlet/store

If an additional battery is connected the UPS should identify it automatically

You do not need any special configuration just follow the procedres for connecting them

I am a bit confused by your question here. You say you want to run two of these units in tandem, one into the other, correct? And are both MGE 2200 models? Let me know some more info and I can help.

Thanks
Tim

    Wait, so you are trying to rig this yourself instead of using the official solution from the manufacturer? Is that what you mean, and why you need to know how to wire it. If you were using the official solution it should just plug in. But you are saying you want to build your own? That is very dangerous if you are unsure of what you are doing, and can cause the unit to overheat - or worse yet - explode...

    Let me know exactly why you can't just plug it in as I have seen with MGE units before... and need to "jumper" the connection as you say.

    Thanks
    Tim

    Well that confirms that you want to try and rig something up, but you can buy these cables from APC directly, just give them a call at this number 877-272-2722, that is the department you would want to call to buy them.

    Thanks
    Tim

    Sir, send me a link to the actual UPS you are using. MGE refers to open source code for UPS's... Send me a URL for the UPS you are using and I will go from there.

    Thanks
    Tim

  • Anonymous Sep 29, 2010

    Ok, but find me the unit online on a manufacturer's site, it doesn't exist any more. The manufacturer is gone... it will be very difficult to find these cables you are looking for.

    Hello. I kind of have the same question: How could I trick the UPS into seeing my riged up external batteries? What kind of signal goes through the battery detection cable?
    I have experience in connecting non-standard batteries onto UPSs,but I have no ideea how I could get them recognised by this UPS
    Thank you in advance!

My desk computer is wifi. How do I hook up the cords to my phone router? Been a while sense I hooked this up.

VERY EASY :) On your router you have RJ45 connection ports, probably 4 plus 1. 1 is special just to communicate with your modem (if they are not built together as one). Either way, use one of the available RJ45 connection ports and connect a "Ethernet cable/fat phone cable" from the router to your computer and your done. No need to enter a user name and password like with wifi. Cheers!

I have a (like) phone chord and can't find where to put the other end. We have it plugged into the back of the router, need to know where to plug the other end.

Hi

It depends on which country you are in.

It depends what Broadband wiring setup you have.

It depends which type of cable you are talking about (see images 1 and 2 below)

In some countries, the RJ11 to RJ11 cable goes from this device into the phone Socket of an ADSL filter. One RJ45 to RJ45 cable goes from the Router into the Ethernet Socket of the ADSL Filter. Another RJ45 to RJ45 cable goes from the Router to the Computer. The ADSL Filter then goes into the Phone socket in the wall.

You need an ADSL Filter in every Phone Socket that has a telecommunications device attached to it (Fax Machines, Answering Machines, TV Set Top Boxes, games Consoles etc.). The ADSL filter separates Telehone, Voice & Fax Data traffic from Broadband traffic and allows all to share the same phone line with out conflict.

See Network Diagram below.

In some countiries or wiring setups, the RJ45 to RJ45 cable form the Router to the Wall does not need to go via the Phone Socket and can go directly into its own dedicated Ethernet Wall Socket.

Hello

Check the following:

* Circuit breaker on main control box is tripped
* Fuse blown (check fuse in main control box assembly).
* Incorrect polarity at battery terminals
* Dead batteries.
* Charging cable is still connected to charging receptacle
* One of the cable connections at the main control box is loose.
* Control connection cable disconnected
* Broken key switch
* Throttle stuck fully open
* Throttle control potentiometer broken.
* Speed potentiometer broken
* Battery voltage too low.
* Faulty charging cable.
* Charger not working.
* Charging circuitry in main control box assembly not working

If these check OK, the problem is likely to in the control connection cable or upper control box Verify that the upper control box is getting 24V. (Blue wire on red connector.)

* If the upper control box is not getting 24V, replace control connection cable

* If the upper control box is getting 24V, check key switch operation and verify wiring in the upper control box. Trace voltage from keyswitch on to find where the problem occurs. (Replace upper control box if necessary.)

* Charge batteries with a 12V charger or replace if necessary.

* Ohm test the charging cable - replace if necessary.

* Test scooter with a different charger, if new charger works, replace charger.

* Check wiring in main control box assembly - replace in line relay if necessary
* If batteries, charger, and all wiring is good, replace controller PCB. (Note the model number for the PCB, for example 1208-2330.)

Rj45 male to db9 male cable for ups

If you have a BackUPS CS, you are probably either using it with the USB cable that is supplied or with the 940-0128A supplied by APC, which permits running the UPS in dumb mode. By building your own cable, you can now run the BackUPS CS models (and perhaps also the ES models) using smart signalling and have all the same information that is available as running it in USB mode.
The jack in the UPS may be easily use a 8 pin RJ45 connector. It is easy to construct the cable by cutting off one end of a standard RJ45-8 ethernet cable and wiring the other end (three wires) into a standard DB9F female serial port connector.
PC Signal PC pin UPS Pin UPS signal RxD 2 2 TxD TxD 3 8 RxD GND 5 7 Ground FG Shield 4 Frame Ground Though these UPSes are USB UPSes, APC supplies a serial cable (typically with a green DB9 F connector) that has 940-0128A stamped into one side of the plastic serial port connector.
Here is suggested scheme of original 940-0128A cable
