I just figured out how to take off the back of the DY-012. You know about the 2 screws on the top, in the 'handle' area. But there is a third screw on the bottom. It is hidden by a small button-sized piece of plastic used to cover the hole the screw is in. This piece of plastic has a pin-hole that you can stick a pin (haha) or a paper clip in, to pop it out. After the 3 screws are out, you pull the back away from the front starting from the bottom, and when you have loosened both sides of the back, you pull down to remove it from the top. You should also see a small **** at the top. Stick a very thin screwdriver or knife in it to help unclip the back from the top. Once you have access to the inside, you just have to figure out the order in which to remove screws to have access to the harder-to-get-to screws. I must say, the plastic cleans VERY easily! My fan was covered with nicotine which accumulated extra dust and dirt, and it now looks brand new!

Thank you, Ted Poineau. 10 years after you first posted the access to the back of the fan it has come in handy once again.

Blow it out with compressed air from a can or (better) with a compressor. If the grill is removable you can top rack dishwash it. farmerbear at FixYa.com

Fan fuse location

There are generally 2 Fuses associated with Honeywell or KAZ Tower Fans... One Fuse is in the Electrical Plug Connector and the other Fuse is on the main Circuit Board.

Where is the fuse on a honeywell quiteset hy-108

KAZ Inc. has franchised the use of Honeywell's company name to manufacture/market this KAZ OEM HY-108 Tower Fan. The small 2.5A fuse you are looking for is located inside the 2-Prong Electrical Outlet Plug. This tiny 2.5A Fuse can be hard to find as a replacement in retail Hardware Stores, but see if you have an old LONG string of indoor/outdoor Christmas Lights... some of these Christmas Lights Strings may have the correct 2.5A Fuse you need. IMHO, it's strange that KAZ Inc. did not put instructions in the Honeywell HY-108 Owner's Manual where the Fuse is located!

Our duracraft portable fan is humming and not moving? what is the problem and can it be fixed?

Sounds like the armature needs to be cleaned. Dirt can build up on the ends of the motor shaft that operates the fan and where it is held in place, the dirt can actually stop the fan. I would spray both ends of the motor shaft with WD40 and rotate the fan by hand until it is free. This is the cheapest thing to do in order to try and get the fan running again. The problem may be worse than this, but it is a good place to start.

Kaz Honeywell Tower Air filter rest light

When the filter monitor light remains on, it is time to check/clean the IFD™ filters and reset the filter
monitor, if needed. With the unit powered on, insert the tip of a ball-point pen or paperclip next to the LED
filter check light and hold for approximately 5 seconds until the light turns off (Fig. 3). Depending upon
your individual usage (environment and hours used), you may need to check and clean the filters more or
less frequently. If the IFD™ filters are cleaned before the filter monitor light turns on, the filter monitor
should be reset at the same time.
