SOURCE: High Pitch Noise on 42" PLasma Gateway TV

how old is your plasma TV? try check the switch / volume of the sound settings.. Sometimes, when you always increase the volume, it will tend to alter the limit of sound and causing the sound to provide sound undesiredness. I suggest to check it with a liscensed technician.

SOURCE: TV made a steady high

Unplug it and do not try to use it to limit the damage. You need to look at the power supply module to see if it has any sign of bad DC filter caps with leaking/bulging tops.

42" Vizio 240Hz SV421XVT no hdmi video or audio

Possible bad source, bad cable or connection was made with units powered up which HDMI does not like.

First thing to try in this case is to remove power from set and whatever unit is connected via HDMI and disconnect the cable itself.

Wait for several minutes, connect HDMI again and THEN return power to the units that were removed from power, this cannot hurt and may help or correct this issue.

Failing this try if possible to connect using component connections.

High pitch noise

Hello,

Sorry to hear about your issue, let me see if I can help.

What type of tv is this? tube or flat panel? If tube, have you recently moved it and shook it up a little?
If panel, are you using an hdmi hookup or just regular cable from a cable box?

Be sure that your hookups are on tightly and that your cables are not tangled as well especially hdmi cable. Let me know if any of this is helpful in solving your issue or if I can be of more assistance. Once you respond I can help more, just need more information..

Thanks,
d

42 inch vizio has picture (direct tv) but no sound. Tv is not on mute.

Did you check the RCA AV Cables? The ones with the red, white yellow?

What is the connection you have from Direct TV box to your TV. You might want to start on that.

It might probably as well related to any of the remote controls settings. Either of the Direct TV control or TV Control.

1. Check the cables
2. Check if there is any function on the Direct TV remote that will turn off the sound
3. CHeck the Vizio TV Menu Settings.
4. Try with other component such as DVD to discard the possibility of malfunctioning VIZIO Speakers.

Vizio offer a good customer service if still under warranty.

God Bless You!!

Our 42" Vizio will not display/play sounds when

Hello

One board takes in the HDMI as well as the other signals. Sometimes part of the board breaks and that is what sounds like has happend in your case. This is a fairly common problem and most people tend to just live with it. Others sell thier tv and a few find the number of thier board to see if one is available on ebay or shopjimmy. If you are comfortable with electronics the board is not hard to replace.

Im sorry your HDMI broke....

I hope this helps

Recieving hy defintion picture

You need to do the following:

1: use HDMI cable to connect Cable box to TV
2: Call Cable company to activate HD service
3: Enjoy!

You can use component input, but the HDMI is best HD quality!

I hope this helps! please rate highly!

Pink Screen on Vizio 37 inch with HDMI Connection

Hi,
I work as a contract technician for Vizio, and I can tell you from experience that replacing motherboard is one of the only solutions to this problem. The other solution if under warranty is to replace it. If you experience red, blue, or green pixels where dark shades (like nose, eyes, clothes, etc), call Vizio and accept nothing less than a full replacement! I have had situations where I replaced motherboard and within 2-3 hours the pixels return. Hope this helps.

42" pansonic plasma hdmi problem

if I understand your question properly.. its because your direct tv output doesnt broadcast in high def so its giving you the standard tv definition inputs which are RGB or Component.so you will lose picture quality cos its running at fewer lines or pixels. hope this helps
