RE: Installing rainbow E series water pan latch

Need to know how to instal rainbow water pan latch and spring latch

Thanks. I finally manage to replaced the latch and the spring latch. Since it was defective, thought it was the problem that caused the Rainbow not to function. But wasnt.

Already contact the company customer service: they came to my home and pick-up the machine for repair. I have just received call and for my suprise the problem was the motor (it has to be replaced), also the switch and plug cable. The repair costs is to high for a machine that has 10 years.

So I started negotiation for a new one. Got a good offer, making a low down payment and monthly installments without interest or other surcharge. Also, they gave me credit for the unit.

Need to know how to install rainbow water pan latch and spring latch

Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. Rainbow E Series Canister Wet/Dry Vacuum. The Rainbow latch can be replaced but I believe it is a pop rivet that holds and replaces the old latch and to replace the new latch, I have seen it done but if you don’t have the right tools you may want to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area, it can be done. So if you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions.

Cannot separate water basin from motor

You need to unlock the latches on either side of the water basin.
If they rusted or froze into place you may have to break them.
There are two latches on either side of the water basin.

How do i reinsert the black little chip on my rainbow vaccum e2 so it can turn on

<p>The part that is sounds like you are talking about is the <a href="http://www.rainvac.com/interlock-plunger-e">Interlock Plunger.</a> This part is under the <a href="http://www.rainvac.com/baffle-plate-asm-right-e">Right Baffle Plate Assembly.</a> It works with the <a href="http://www.rainvac.com/switch-interlock-e">Interlock Switch</a> for safety so the Rainbow will not turn on unless it is latched onto the water pan. Remove the Right Baffle Assembly and insert into the small pocket that the Interlock Switch is installed.</p>

Vacuum won't turn on

Be sure to that the latches are connected to the water pan. The eSERIES and up will not turn on without the water pan latched. If that is not the issue, please call us and speak to a Rainbow Specialist.

Rainbow vacuum won't power on.

Do you have it on the water pan? All models above the eSERIES will not run without the water pan.

Water leaking from out of the heppa filter

Reasons for that to happen:
a) You have tilted the vac while vacuuming
b) Used the Rainbow without separator (basket like thing on the bottom of the motor)
c) Overfilled the rainbow tank with water (may have happened when shampooing with AquaMate)

Clean and install back the separator, remove HEPA, Set the Rainbow on empty water pan (with HEPA removed) turn it on for a while so everything will dry. Install new HEPA.

You will have to get a new HEPA filter (you can find them HERE)

Good Luck,
Rocky

I don't know how to take apart me Rainbow e2 series vac.

I recently took mine apart because the motor stopped working. Realized the brushes were pretty well worn down and one side was completely gone. I was looking on the internet for detailed instructions on how to take it apart. I ended up just ripping it apart with no problems but made a tutorial to help you guys out. Here's a link to it

http://www.vacuumcleanerforum.com/f20/21715-how-take-your-rainbow-vaccum-apart.html

This is for the e-series vaccum, not the e2 but they pretty much have the same design and same motor (e2 has a 2 stage motor).

Let me know if you have any questions

Changing the filter in Rainbow e series

Some of the e-series has a corrugated filter in the top section. To get to it, remove the clear plastic panels that are the sides. Most have 3 screws on each side to move, then the top half will come loose. There also is filter on the back, there is a door to remove to get to it.
