Is there a Dyson vacuum that Will work on high pile Mohawk carpet?

Patty,
I am not sure about any of the Dyson vacuums being able to handle that carpet. I work at an Oreck store on the weekends and I know that we have had several customers come in with the same question as yours and we recommend the Oreck Magnesium RS or any of the Miele vacuum cleaners. They have been tried out on Mohawk carpet and have been found to work well. Hope this helps!

I can't push my Dyson Dc33 on my new carpet..it works backwards ok but not pushing forward?

Hi Fran, it's Jack at Dyson.

DC33 is engineered to work effectively on both hard and carpeted flooring. The cleaner head is engineered to adjust automatically for different floor types and carpet piles. You can also turn off the brush bar for hard floors and delicate rugs, using the brush control on the cleaner head.

I'm sorry to hear you're having difficulty pushing your machine forward on this particular type of new carpeting. If your DC33 worked effectively before the new carpeting was fitted, it doesn't sound like there's an issue with the vacuum itself. However, we'd appreciate the opportunity to take some further details about the issue, and may be able to suggest a resolution. You may also want to consider contacting the carpeting manufacturer directly, as they should be able to recommend the best way of caring for this specific carpeting.

When you have your DC33 easily to hand, please give the Dyson Customer Helpline a call on 0800 298 0298 (UK), 1-866-693-9766 (US), 1-877-397-6622 (CA) or 1800 239 766 (AU).

We'll look forward to speaking with you.

Dyson 25 gets too much suction in the carpet, does not move. How can we fix it?

Hi there, it's Jack at Dyson.

DC25 is a powerful upright vacuum, with strong suction to clean carpets and hard floors effectively. However I'm surprised to hear you're finding your machine hard to use on this particular carpet type.

I would encourage you to contact us directly, as in order to help we would need to take some further information about the carpeting, and how you're using your DC25.

When you have your vacuum to hand, please give our experts a call on 0800 298 0298 (UK), 1-866-693-9766 (US), 1-877-397-6622 (CA) or 1800 239 766 (AU).

Self adjusting head plate not adjusting to hard floor

Hi there, it's Jack at Dyson.

I'm sorry to hear you're having difficulty pushing your DC41 on hard flooring. However I'm confident I can help you resolve this - if you can email me directly at [email protected], I'll be in touch as soon as possible to take some further details. If you have the facility to attach a clear photo of the underside of your vacuum's cleaner head to your email, that would also be very useful to me.

I'll look forward to hearing from you.

I have a dc56, will the new tangle free turbine tool, part No 925068, fit it?

Hi Lyn, it's Jack at Dyson.

DC56, the new Dyson Hard vacuum cleaner, is engineered for quick cleanups on hard floor surfaces - wood, laminate, lino, tile etc. It also converts into a powerful handheld vacuum for dusting tasks around the home and inside the car.

The Dyson Hard is not designed for use on carpeted floors, and we do not manufacture a motorised head for this machine as it lacks the wiring and connections needed to supply current to a motorised head.

Airflow-driven Turbine heads, such as the Tangle-free Turbine tool, are engineered to work with the performance characteristics of our mains-powered vacuum cleaners, and are not compatible with Dyson cordless or handheld vacuums.

However, we do have a range of accessories which are compatible with DC56, and you can find these on our website: http://www.dyson.co.uk/accessories/variant-accessories.aspx?pid=DC56-dyson-hard

Dyson dc17 makes loud noise on carpet setting. It's like a high pitch ringing almost but won't make the noise on hard floor, only carpet setting. Ive checked for blockages and cleaned all parts but makes...

It is probably the brush roll motor making the noise. Remove the brush roll & belt and turn both motors on. If you do not hear the noise when both motors are running the noise is likely coming from the brush roll

Plush carpet setting on vaccuum?

Hi there, it's Jack at Dyson.

DC41 Animal's cleaner head is designed to self-adjust to different floor types - so you don't need to bend down to adjust a dial. You can see how this feature works in the video below. In addition to this, next to the red on/off switch you'll see a silver brush control switch, which allows you to turn off the brush bar for hard floors and delicate carpeting.

Carpet manufacturers sometimes recommend vacuuming certain types of carpeting with the brush bar turned off - we'd suggest checking directly with the manufacturer of your carpets to ensure you're cleaning them correctly.

If you'd like any further advice on using your DC41 Animal, please email us at [email protected] and one of our experts will be in touch as soon as possible.

Best wishes,

Jack

How do i alter the dyson dc04 to use on hard floors

Hi there, it's Jack at Dyson.

If your DC04 has a brush control on the cleaner head, you'll need to set this to 'On' for carpets, and 'Off' for hard floors. You can find out how to do this on our Support site:

http://www.dyson.co.uk/support/dc04/dc04-brush-control/my-machine-is-not-working/i-can-see-something-wrong-visual/i-can-see-something-wrong-visual/my-brushbar-is-not-rotating2/does-the-brushbar-rotate-with-the-power-on

If your machine does not include the brush control, it will only be suitable for vacuuming carpeted surfaces and we'd advise against using it on hard floors in upright mode. However, you can use the hose and wand to vacuum hard floors and we have several suitable hard floor tools available which may help.

I hope this helps - if you'd like further advice you can reach our freephone Helpline on 0800 298 0298. Just to let you know, our Helpline is available from 7am-10pm, 7 days a week.
