Hello, You turn off the scope switch, hey. But did you turn off the IR switch? Never leave batteries in you NV devise. It creates lot of problems. Just take them out and wrap those batteries in plastic bag each and store them in cool dry place. stewbison

Black specks or chips are collecting on the optics inside of the scope. The scope won't hold zero. Scope is mounted on a 50 BMG.

Is this night vision scope effective at 300 - 350 yards? I want to use it on coyotes that come into my farm yard. I am shooting a 25-06 and have killed coyotes at 575 yards, so I want distance with a...

Not really, maybe at extreme shooting---lucky shot. The most effective range would be 200 yrd
and if you are really good with 250 yrds. But you got to be excellent shot and good at it.

With a 25-06 Winchester volocity of 2800--2950 ft/sec you could hit that **** willie coyota at 500+ yards with a excellent 3X9 adjustable scope. But at night without a first night vision scope, no. stewbison

This scope has Russian manufacture parts, image tube, ccfl, inverter, voltage multiplier, wire almos everything is Russian except maybe the the blacken aluminun tube and covers. hit the reset, take the batteries out for 10 minutes so it resets, if that doesnt work you have to mess with the contrast.
