My Philips Philishave HQ7850 is four years old. The Off and ON switch has suddenly sunk and does not function any more. Can I repair it myself?
I would like to know how to disassmeble it to acess the switch. I live in Egypt where there iare no philips repair facilities. Please help. My email is

Hopefully you discovered it's not difficult to take the shaver apart--at least if it's like mine.
Two screws on the back hold it together--one visible, one under the flip trimmer. They have odd slots but can be undone with a small slot screwdriver, though I think the proper way is with a torxx.
Once you undo the screws, take off the metal clips that hold in the batteries and serve as the screw holes. The batteries can be flipped up carefully (so as not to break the copper wires to the motor).
If your problem is like mine, you'll see a clear plastic piece that has dislodged from under the rubber push switch. Place the round end so that it lays in the rubber dome and contacts the switch.
You can flip the batteries back down in their proper position at this point and test to see if the plastic part is seated properly.
Then simply put the metal clips back and replace the screws. Amazingly simple. Hope that helps.
Exactly the same as the failure on mine and exactly the same strip down method I used. On replacement I used a touch of glue between the plastic piece and the rubber dome, I hope this keeps it in place for the future.
