I installed The OakBrook tub & shower faucet (48012) and unfortunately the instructions didn't say how deep in the wall the fixture had to be installed for there not to be thread showing between the sleeve and the knob on the valve stem. Tearing the tile out is not an option. I was hoping that I could purchase a sleeve that is about 1 inch longer that would fix the problem. Please reply to [email protected] AND [email protected] Thanks, Debi Hamrick

SOURCE: Installed a new oak brook collection tub and

Most all shower valve's these days have anti-scald protection. There are 2 ways that this protection is accomplished; temperature control device or a pressure balance device.
If your's has a pressure balance device, both cold and hot water lines that supply your shower valve must be fully opened. If you only turned on one, water will not flow from the shower valve.

If both hot and cold supplies are fully opened and you soldered copper pipe to the shower valve, it is possible that excess soldered is was sucked into the valve and could be obstructing the valve's outlet.

I installed oakbrook tub and shower faucet 48011 and no hot water is coming out either side just water. What could be wrong?

If you have just water coming out you have not urned on the hot water valve that was turned off during install. check other faucet for hot . If you have hot there its not the hot water tank its the hot side valve.

How to remove cartridge from oakbrook shower faucet with 3 handles

You take off the handles, then the packing nut and you should see the valve stem and it unscrews all the way out. You can then look at the seal on the steam and the seat is in the valve. To change the seat, you need a special tool that fits in the fixture to twist the seat out.

Typically the Hot Should show on the left and the cold on the right when facing the faucet. If the plate reads the other way, I would try exchanging it first or utiize flexible connectors and cross them.

Nice.
Paying that price for your shower faucet, I would think the supply house would work with you on that. eBay shows cross handles so they are available.
The plumbing supply store should be able to order what you want.

I have Danze, single handle shower faucets that were professionally installed in 2005. One shower faucet has not hot water, just cold and when the handle is turned on all the way to hot, there is an itty...

Replace valve canister- no construction- just remove after taking time to shut off water- a few screws and the job takes 15 minutes. I take for granted you have good water hot/cold to the fixture. This fix will cure most temperature balance problems.
The single lever system is a EZ care system. Note the canister can malfunction faster when exposed to untreated hard water.

We have Delta brand tub/shower fixtures, the one handle kind. The problem is that water comes out of both the tub faucet and the shower head, even though the shower is not turned on. This happens every...

You need to replace the tub diverter/spout. There are two kinds, I hope you have the kind with
an allen head set screw on the bottom side of the spout near the shower wall. These are super
easy to replace ! Loosen the set screw, twist the spout a little and it should slide off. When installing
the new spout, smear some vaseline on the copper pipe sticking out, this will help seal the new O rings in the spout.

The other kind of spout has pipe threads in it. They can be a little more tricky. I got called to a
house one time. The plastic female threads on the spout cracked when the plumber installed it.
The water ran down the inside of the wall and did damage down stairs. The leak could not be seen
until the sheet rock down stairs fell down from being soaked. You need to put some pipe dope on the threads, then tighten the spout on by hand, so as not to scratch it with a pump pliers.

I hope this helps !

Installed a new oak brook collection tub and shower faucet and no water comes out.

You may have to disassymble the faucet to see if there is something that is stuck in there or that the assymbly internally is stuck in the closed position.

Shower head leaks water when water is turned on

take out the cartridge from the fixture and make sure it has all of the "O" rings and stoppers.
look at the instruction again, make sue you are installing it the right side up. if all that, the shower still leak, then you need to talk to the place you brought the fixture, it may have a defective cartridge.
