SOURCE: hello i changed the battery on my dakota angler II

Did you change the battery yourself? Did you have instructions? The reason I ask is only because some watches/etc have more the one battery for various functions. Sometimes there are more batteries underneatch the battery you replaced.
I would call the manufacturer and ask them if you have the number.

Need to open. coleman 40-334 watch not sure if the back is threaded

mcdevito75 here, If the back screws down, you"ll see a series of square holes around the edge of the back cover, in this case you"ll need a special tool called a case back remover tool to un-screw the back cover. If there are no square holes on the back cover, most likely it"s a press type back cover and some of these cavers are very hard to get back on wothout another tool called a case back press tool, these mentioned tools are available on ebay, but, with just a battery replacement, the time and tools you may need the cost is more than a watch repair shop would charge you. Best Bet, look for a small watch repair shop in your area for this once a year or even longer battery change.

Is a special tool required to reinstall the back after replacing the battery.

mcdevito75 here, Not really, but it depends on the maker of your watch, if the back prys off then it simply snaps back on, if there are screws holding the back on you"ll nedd Jewelers screwdrivers, if there are square holes around the back you"ll need a special tool to unscrew the back. Best Bet, have a small watch repair shop change your battery.

How do I change the battery/ies for the watch? The red light still functions, but the timepiece does not.

I took a clip watch to the Mall today and had the battery replaced at the Dakota Kiosk. It cost $10. They used a tiny knife to pry off the back. I was trying to use a screwdriver and that didn't work.

My atomic watch wll not let me to select the proper city code (NYC) or make any other selection to reset the time. It was great for four months after Christmas (a gift) but the battery ran out in April. ...

My best advice to you is to contact Dakota or send to Dakota. It may not be what you want to hear, but its probably going to be your best interest to send back to them so they can properly care for your watch.

On my Timex T53722 the bottom of the display is cut off and the Contact mode is getting erratic. It has a new battery.

mcdevito75 here, If you changed the battery yourself, you"ll have to go back into the watch to make sure the buttons are presssing fully, and on the correct spot on the quartz movement, some times these button contacts get mis-aligned due to moveing the movement while replaceing the battery, you"ll also have to check the battery contact in the watch also, make sure the battery is being held fairly tight, the battery could have gotton loose. If you had the shop replace the battery, return to the shop for adjustments.
