According to BPA-201 manual, pages 10 and 31, the "EP error" is a system error. The suggested action for this error, again according to the manual, is "measure again", as can be seen in the figure below:
If you use a Homedics BPA-110 automatic blood pressure monitor:
1 - Press the User-Select button to select User 1 or User 2.
2 - Press and hold the Date/Time Set buttons at the same time while in memory recall mode. The data for the selected user will be erased automatically.
On my Homedics BPA-110 the "E3" means there was an "error obtaining measurement data: measure again". When you measure, make sure the cuff hose is centered on your arm. I have noticed the placement of the hose cuff is quite critical. If the hose on the cuff is not centered, you will probably get some type of "Exx" error code. This has happened several times with my monitor. Hopes this helps.
Trish, only the manufacturer, HoMedics can recalibrate it. As the calibration has to be certified as correct. Most manufacturers charge little or nothing to do this. Unfortunately, HoMedics is based in the USA in Minnesota. So, that means it was imported to NZ. However, they have a Customer Service email address [email protected] , that you can use to inquire about shipping it back to them for recalibration.
I hope this helps you and thanks for choosing FixYa.
Depends what you mean by calibrate. If you mean affect adjustment - no, this is not possible. If you mean test the device for accuracy, then the answer is yes. All good quality home use Blood Pressure Monitors (BPM), should meet international standards, typically this is an accuracy of +/- 3 mmHg. To have a BPM checked for accuracy you should take it to an authorised reseller. Typically this should be done every two years.
