Emerson Smartset Clock Radio Logo

Time Display I recently purchased the Emerson Smart Set iC172 stereo clock radio with ipod docking station. The thing is that the time only is displayed when the motion sensor is activated, and only for a few seconds. Is there a way I can get it so that the time is always displayed?

My clock did not do this the first couple days and now it is only showing the time when the sensor notes motion or when I push the projection button.

A-ha! Those manuals sure do come in handy sometimes. I found the solution. In addition to functioning as a snooze button for delaying the alarm, the snooze button is also a brightness button for the time. If you press snooze one time it changes the time brightness from bright to dim, press it again and it goes from dim to motion sensitive only, press it again and it returns to bright.

I just tried this and resolved my problem. I hope it helps you as well.
Enjoy!

I have an i-connex ipod docking station model 583258 with clock/alarm and radio but I have been unable to set the clock as I have mislaid the instructions. I am usually pretty good at working these things...

1. Fit the DC power and switch on the appliance by pressing the standby button 2. To set time, press CLOCk button to alternate between 12 and 24 hour format. 3. Press and hold CLOCK button until the set hour flashes on display 4. Adjust time using SKIP/SEARCH 5. Press CLOCK to set the time, same procedure for minute
To set alarm
1. Press AL SET 1/OFF 1 button, then press and hold the same button until the alarm time starts flashing 2. Press SKIP/SEARCH to to set time as above

How do you set the radio stations?

With my ilive ish3 soundbar, you find an unused memory preset, go to the station you want to program, press MEMORY and while the display is still flashing press MEMORY again. Took a bit of trial and error to figure that one out.

Alarm clock and time w/ clok smooth ipod system

Hi,

According to the instructions that we received with our clock. You should be able to get the Instruction manual from [email protected]. It is also supposed to be under the support section of the website www.dpi-global.com but I couldn't find such a link.

However the "Operational Support" insert has the following:

Setting the clock
1. With the unit powered off, press and hold the "Clock/Display/Play/Pause Button" for at least 4 seconds.
2. While holding the "Clock/Display/Play/Pause Button", press the "Hour" and "Minute Buttons" to adjust the hour and minute on the time.
3. When the correct time is selected, release the "Clock/Display/Play/Pause Button" to set the clock

Setting the Alarms
1. With the unit powered off, press and hold the "AL1" or "AL2" Button for at least 4 seconds.
NOTE: An alarm icon will begin to flash on the LCD display.

2. While holding the "AL1" or "AL2" Button, press the "Hour" and "Minute Buttons" to adjust the hour and minute on the alarm time.

3. When the correct time is selected, release the "AL1" or "AL2" Button to set the clock.

4. Press the "AL1" or "AL2" Button consecutively to switch alarm one and alarm two between sounding to a buzzer, the currently set radio station, or a docked iPod.

Emerson iPod Clock Radio Docking Station #IC200BK radio

I was having a similar problem with my ic200bk stereo dock. After unplugging the machine, replugging it, and allowing the auto set to occur, a timer is activated while nothing else works. I spoke with an Emerson employee about the problem, but he wasn't very helpful. He simply indicated the unit needs to be repaired (which, conveniently, they don't do) or replaced (by only if your 90-day warranty is still in effect...also convenient for me). Bottomline: your unit is **** is Emerson can't (or won't) do a thing about it.

I'm done with Emerson forever.
