These "cheap jump starters" are little more than a Lead/Acid battery much like what is in your car. If they sit too long on the shelf of your local department store, without having a charge maintained, the cells in the battery will eventually collapse rendering them next to useless without quite a bit of work trickle charging them back to life. As the proud owner of several of these useless boat anchors I can advise you to save your money and just buy a really good vehicle battery (Interstate) that will be there when you need it, instead of wasting money on Wallymart specials that last 2 maybe 3 years. I have learned..... ;-) Take it back and get your money.

Do you have any marine or off road ie 4 wheelers, stuff like that store near you. those kinds of machines have smaller batteries that they can order for you. or a Batteries plus, im thinking they can order you something at one of those places.

well then, how handy are you, depending you may slightly bend the prongs or tabs further open that will work for a while or you can goto a building supply chain store and ask for a new plug. They are pretty easy to install, a wire cutter stripper and a Phillips screwdriver. and 5 minutes. if your not sure how to actually do it someone at the store will tell you ( menards, home depot, lowes) someone in the electrical department. or you can watch a you tube video on it. the new plugs are 5-15.00 depending on what you want.

The port is female with a center pin, the male portion is on the charger. If you damaged this pin and it is loose you will need to replace the plug on the charger. Since these are very similar to some laptop charging ports, having a broken laptop around with same size charging port would be a bonus, or a friend with one too, but they are relatively cheap, I fix broken ones on laptops several times a year and can find a pair of them shipped for under $10 typically. Sometimes you need to solder them on, sometimes they connect with a dongle, should be easy enough to take apart and peek inside. Other wise, if that is beyond your expertise, does the charger have a cigarette lighter, you could likely charge it through that port, or with a trickle charger directly on the battery cables on the unit if need be.

Just as your information says ask for a 12 volt 700 ma charger..but seeing that yours is a 450 amp jumper..any 12 volt that fits your ac input will do the job...one more thing if you do not have a charger..just connect it to your battery and run the engine for 20 min or so it will recharge the car battery and you jumper..also you can get a lighter wire with two lighter plugs and charge it through you lighter..good luck

4.6 Northstar V8. It is located on the rear of engine (driver side) in front. It is in the the water pump housing cover. Remove air box and intake tube and bottom radiator hose. 2 bolts(believe 10mm) on thermostat housing.
