Setting resolution I just received my newly refurbished E17t6W LCD emachine monitor. I see the controls on the side but I don't think the new settings I try to input are "taking". Light typeis too light. Can you give me a simple step by step on how to adjust the resolution?

Adjusting the resolution is done in Windows. Right click on the desktop and click on properties. Once that opens click on the Settings tab. There you will have a slider bar that you can adjust your resolution with. As far as being able to see things clearly on the monitor, the best picture is usually obtained simply by pushing the AUTO button.

I set the resolution far too high by mistake on my Gateway FPD1960 TFT LCD monitor. Not the screen shows "Frequency out of range". The side controls on the monitor do not respond. Please help,if you can.

Hi
Firstly try turning everything off and disconnecting from the mains. Leave for a few minutes and then turn them back on again. This should set the monitor back to default setting, and also the computer.
If this doesn't work, try connecting the computer to a different monitor and using the "display properties" to set the display card to a resolution that you know the Gateway monitor will accept eg probably 1024 x 768. Then reconnect the computer to the Gateway monitor. This should work as the computer usually sets the monitor resolution.
If this doesn't work the only other option I can think of is to use the buttons on the monitor to get into the onscreen menu, which should be resolution independent and using the menu to change the resolution.
Hope this is helpful, if so would you please register that with Fixya

I purchased a gateway HD2201 monitor all I see is white screen

Maybe your resolution is not set to the right settings for your new screen, set the resolution and refresh rate lower with the old screen attached and try again with the new screen

I have shadow to the right of my text on my newly installed BENQ G2220HD monitor. How do I fix this problem?

You need to set your PC video resolution to the native resolution of this monitor, 1920 x 1080 @60Hz for best picture.

Computer screen says imput not supported what do i do?

i believe at boot you should hold f8 for advanced booting options, and then select safe mode, which will start the computer in a lower resolution graphix. from there, set the resolution down on the display. right click on the desktop and select properties or personalize, then look for the display setings for screen resolution. its prolly set to 1680 x 1050, and needs to be set to something around 1280x768 or something: maybe its set to a different aspect ration or just plain different size.

Monitor works in dos starup, but fails in Vista startup mode.

Sounds like windows resolution or refresh rate is too high for the 15" monitor. Try starting in safe mode and setting the resolution below 1024 X 768 and refresh at 60. Restart.

Hi receiving input not supported

This message shows that you are not setting the resolution correctly.

When you are in Windows, click on - Control panel - Display - Setting - Screen Resolution (set yo 1280 x 1024). then click ok.

Your floating box will gone.

I got the same problem and got the solution from [email protected].

Hope this will help you.
